Paused during streaming

While streaming, shows will occasionally pause on their own. At times I can push the play button and it goes and other times i need to select another show then go back to the one I was watching.

When did the problem start?

I am going via the app.  Routers replaced and checked, new modem, Spectrum came out and checked connections and signal strength. It does not happen when using Netflix, for example.

"the app" on what device?   Roku? FireStick? Samsung TV?

If you're using the DirecTV Stream App on a Samsung TV, then you're not alone. Lots of posts here from folks with problems using that App. Much better experience with a DirecTV Stream box, or $30 Roku or FireStick.

Let's Try these tips as basic troubleshooting:

1. Check for app updates in your app store. If an update is available, install it and restart your device.
2.Check for device software updates and install.
3. Close and restart the DIRECTV STREAM app.
4.Reboot your phone or tablet.
6.Uninstall and reinstall the DIRECTV STREAM app.

I have the same issue on my Samsung Smart TV, please let me know if there is a fix.

If you are using the Samsung app you need to get an externsl streaming device. The Samsung app has major issues.

I'm not using the Samsung app. I have a Samsung Smart TV. I'm using Directv streaming and the shows pause while watching them. I don't have this issue on Netflix, etc., only on Directv. Also, don't have sound when I DVR shows to watach at a later time. Please let me know if you have a fix for this issues.

A bit of clarification. I am not going thru an app on my PC or Mac. I am essentially logging into your website and streaming it. I have tried all of the other fixes you suggested.

Then how are you streaming via the website if you are not using a Mac or PC? Clarification please - it's not DirecTV but DirecTV Stream. They are different.

if you read the string, I am streaming using a mac, pc and phone. Phone is the app and the other two are direct from the website.
