Pixelation on local channels
My local channels keep pixelating randomly. All other channels to my knowledge are fine, I’ve just had issues with the local channels for Erie County PA.
I’m using a Directv Stream box which is directly wired to my router which is getting 352 down for speed. Plenty for streaming. The problem has being going on for 3 months now with no changes or resolutions. I’ve factory reset the device, restarted the device, signed in and signed out… nothing has helped. I just set up another box at the same address so I’m waiting to see if it will have the same issues.

All local stations or only some? Are you aware of anyone else in your area with similar issues? If so, you’ll need to get in contact with those local stations since DIRECTV STREAM cannot do anything with what they are sent.

Everyone else around me uses antennas or Spectrum. No issues with Spectrum for the local channels. So hence why I think it’s a Directv stream issue.

Thanks for the confirmation. However, since those are different means of receiving the channels, it wouldn’t really be a similar comparison. Either way, do ALL of your local channels or only some have this issue? If only some, please specify which ones.

CBS, NBC, and ABC are the local channels I use most often. I notice it a bunch with CBS and NBC. I don’t recall what ABC does since it’s like last resort local channel for us. (WSEE and WICU are the names for the local broadcasts)
I do not know of anyone else in the area who uses Directv stream so I couldn’t tell you if the issue is just with me or not. Our other family members use FuboTV and their local channels are fine but perhaps that’s another different means of transmitting.

Ok, you’ll need to get in contact with CBS and NBC about the issue. They should be able to find a resolution.

@detuch254
Why should one have to contact local station to resolve an issue that is happening through the streaming service?

@chasf00 that’s the thing. The local stations are the problem, not DIRECTV STREAM. Whatever method they take to get the programming to DIRECTV STREAM is Not working right. There’s nothing DIRECTV STREAM can do about it because they are the ones receiving the programming. Therefore, the local stations themselves are to blame for pixelation.

Why doesn’t Directv tell them there are issues they need to fix? I think if they would take it more seriously coming from Directv rather from 1 customer…..

Don't agree. Believe it probably is a device issue.

Unlikley to be the device since it is only happening to a couple of channels. In fact, I have discovered WSEE and WICU come from the same studio so that again indicates this is a problem somwhere in the source.

The source for us subscribers is Dstream. It is incumbent on Dstream to deliver the product being paid for. If there is a problem with the feed that is being delivered to Dstream it is up to them to rectify it before transmission.

@Timbo303
Ummm, no. If you're having pixelation on every channel then something is wrong with your internet or equipment. If it was DirecTV's end, then we would be having this problem.
Please start your own new post with more details about your equipment, symptoms, and troubleshooting you've tried so far. Perhaps we can help.
