"Press up to view recent channels" notification

How can I remove the constantly annoying "press up to view recent channels" notification that appears on the bottom of the screen when first opening the app?

Hi, again, Tiger:

Finding, going to and then turning off the Power Save feature WORKED !!!

My Direct T.V. streaming boxes (I have two in the same room on an HDMI splitter) have been running for well over 8 hours now.  The,"Are You Still Watching?" pester screen never came up and the 2 TVs haven't turned off.

Thanks  again.

Finally, because we both have wished each other a Happy Thanksgiving, and since I don't know if you celebrate Christmas, I'll be first to now wish you a Happy New Year.

Hey @Hoffmie, we want to help with app notifications.

Please let us know, how often are you getting the notifications? Also, does it happen when you open the app or at any other time?

We'll appreciate the information to get started.

Every time I open the app. Can't find a way to turn it off in any settings. Happens on all three TVs.

It happens on the apps--can't do anything to stop it. If you have a Dtv stream box that notification doesn't happen. I also use the app and it happens all the time. Yep, annoying.

If there's a solution, just post it here so other customers can solve it as well. I don't see what the need for these constant direct message requests are unless there is no real solution.

Hello @Hoffmie, thank you for sharing your opinion. We want to make sure all of our customers concerns are addressed properly.

You can manage notifications on the app settings, and decide if you want them to appear on your screen. On the DIRECTV STREAM app, go to Preferences or Player Options, then you can select Allow Notifications to turn them OFF and ON. Here you'll find more details.

Please, let us know how it goes.

There is no "Allow Notifications" under preferences.

Thank you for confirming that to me. Could you please share a screenshot about the options displayed? Please, make sure to not share any personal or account information, your security is our priority. - Camilo, DIRECTV Community Specialist

There is no way to stop "press up to view recent channels" on the app startup on firesticks, roku, apple tv. The only device you don't see it on is the Dtv Stream box. That's the answer. Period. I already said this once.

Any update on this?

Nope. Why would you expect it to change? Contact DIRECTV STREAM if you’d like to see this pop-up disabled. We can’t do anything as we are customers just like you.

Then don't "answer" if you don't know.

I do know. There’s no change. I provided a straightforward answer

You provided an unhelpful response that did not at all address the issue.
