Record Series

Not all episodes recorded. I recorded a series for a new TV show.  Episode 1and Episode 3 recorded but not episode 2 did not. This also happened with another recorded series. This is the first time this has happened.

Whether you are SATELLITE or STREAM, being able to record your favorite moments is one of our best features. You can quickly locate and watch an entire season of shows using Smart Search, the guide of the HD DVR playlist. To check the reason for the missing episode, you may search DVR History. Press Menu > Recordings > Manage Recordings > History. 

 

1. Highlight the recording in the DVR History.
2. The description to the right will display DELETED or CANCELLED.
3. The top of the screen will describe why or how the recording is now missing.

 

Also, various factors can influence this matter: the priority of the recording, the type of service, the model of your device, and your internet connection (for streaming services only). I noticed something similar.  I have Sewer Divers set to record on Discovery channel.  On Jan. 1 it recorded the first episode.  On Jan. 8 it recorded the second episode but I noticed in the recording it said S1 E3.  As far as I know they have only aired 2 episodes so I don't think Jan 8th was really episode 3.  I think it is just bad guide data.

DIRECTVhelp Ana, despite saying "Whether you are SATELLITE or STREAM", your instructions only apply to the Satellite service.
