Recording from wrong channel

How do I tell it NOT to record from multiple channels??  It winds up recording very old shows on channels like Game Show Network!!  I selected new and no reruns.

To stop unwanted recordings, go to the show's page in My Library and choose "Cancel series" to stop future recordings, @gulfbreezey. This will stop the app from recording new episodes, but it won't remove old ones.

Steps:
1. Open My Library: In the DIRECTV STREAM app, go to "My Library" or hit "List" on your DIRECTV remote if you're using a Gemini device.
2. Choose "Upcoming recordings" then look for the show you want to stop recording.
3. Click on the Show: Tap the show's title (not an episode).
4. Cancel Recording: Find "Cancel series" or "Stop recording series" and click it. This will stop all future recordings of that show.

Thanks for your input.  I don’t want the show to stop being recorded I want it to only be recorded by the original show channel (CBS). The problem is it is also being recorded on the Gameshow channel and those are all reruns and they air multiple shows each day.  I indicated only new shows when requesting the CBS recording buy all the shows on the Gameshow network are considered new.  I was hoping for someway to make the Gameshow network to go away.

Specific channel recording isn't supported at this time, but we'll consider it for a future enhancement. Charles, DIRECTV Community Team

Yes please do. Would be nice to be able to record a series by channel number like you can on Dtv Satellite.

I’d think if the satellite version could do this they could easily figure out how to do it on streaming!!  Thanks for the comment!

I've been asking for this to be resolved for a year. Don't tell me anyone is actually considering it. When DTVStream added all those channels above 999, they created a huge mess. Game Show Network was bad enough. Now you have a LMAD channel, a Price Is Right Channel, and a bunch of other garbage that I DON'T WANT AND DIDN'T ASK FOR! Every other provide allows the DVR to select Only New Episodes On This Channel or In This Time Slot.

Perhaps if you used real programmers, you could get this done.

At one point years ago I had Xfinity TV which I really disliked. But they had two good things. One, the remote and two, when setting up series recordings if the programming found it on more than one channel it would give you the option of picking the channel you want to do a series recordings on. That was a nice feature.

The other way to somewhat help with this problem, is to have an option to record from only your favorite channels.

Dtv Satellite has the feature to choose a channel to record series from. At least they used to when I had Satellite up until around 2017 with a Genie DVR

Same problem for the NBC show Dateline. Now THERE IS A 24/7 DATELINE CHANNEL. My DVR is getting inundated with old shows even though I have it programmed to only record new episodes. This needs to be addressed ASAP!

We've been waiting for this feature for years. Don't think it's ever going to happen (Even though Dtv Satellite has had the channel specific feature for decades)

Have never had an issue before but started to record the new Game of Thrones series and it will record on HBO and also EVERY episode on the Spanish HBO channel despite the setting set to new episodes only (and recording the series on an English HBO channel). When I go to list it is full of the same episode, all in Spanish.  How is this a thing?!

Disappointed to find this answer on this forum. Game Show Network just started airing old Jeopardy episodes, and now when I go to watch, I have to be very careful to not delete the actual new episode, because there will be several listed, and sometimes they have one airing and recording at the same time as the new one. The fact that the icon for the show is the same as the current one makes it easier to accidentally delete the wrong episode.

Why are so many old things tagged as new on DirecTV cable channels? This was never an issue with Cox. The metadata is clearly right there because the date the show first aired is included.
