Recording not available at this time

A few days ago, our DirecTV stopped allowing us to record programs listed in the "Guide" and displays the message "Recording not available at this time . . . etc". This message appears for any show on any channel and through any of the means available to choose "Record". Our system is new (one month old as of March 2022) and we have many hours of recording time available. Any ideas?

You said DirecTV, do you mean DirecTV Stream, as you have posted in the DirecTV Stream area. They are two different services. One satellite  and the other streaming.
If Stream, what device are you using?

Thanks, lou_do. Yes, we have DirecTV Stream with a new C71KW-400 box provided by ATT for wifi connection to our UVerse high-speed internet router. (ATT is phasing out the old DirecTV service in our area). I tried simply restarting the box, but with no success. We also use an Apple TV (Gen 4) and newish Roku device for wifi streaming to our two TV sets, but not for recording.

Hi @mjhnston2022, let's get you the help needed.

Please try to set up the recordings in a different way than from the guide. Click on Overflow/More Info page, press More Info then select Record.

If the error persist let us know, that way we can take a closer look at this.

Thanks, Veronica. Using the "Overflow/More Info" option produced the same error message ("Recording/Channel not available etc . . ."). HOWEVER, selecting the program from "Guide", then selecting "View all episodes" successfully allows recording with the record options available from the "View all episodes" screen. Not a big nuisance, but it would be nice if the simpler one-click options (on the remote, directly from "Guide") worked!

I tried that and it allows you to record the series. But when you go to view it they're not there.

All recording options available directly from "Guide" are now working: no more error messages "Recording/Channel not available etc."
