Sharing a Direct TV stream Account.

With the cost of TV getting so expensive, I was wondering if I could share a Direct TV stream account with my mother?

However, my mother lives in a Different State and would have different locals and RSN's then me (her - Iowa and me - New Mexico).

We are both just looking to split the cost of Direct TV without losing the channels we love. Plus I need to know how many TV's each of us could watch at the same time?

We both have Roku so getting the stream is easy.

Roku's and Amazon Fire Sticks do not have location services, so by default the local programming is based on the zip code where the device was first setup. To get different locals, you need a device that has location services. Apple TV, cell phones, PC's, and even the DirecTV Steam devices have location services or GPS. One of these devices should be able to stream local channels in a different location. I travel a lot in a RV, If I want my home based locals I use a Roku or Amazon Fire Stick. If I want the traveling location locals, I use one of the devices that have location services or GPS. It's not always perfect, but in most cases the desired locals are available.

Hi. Saving money by sharing your accounts is a smart step. You can share your DIRECTV STREAM service with your mother using your credentials. You will receive the programming, according to your ZIP code. If she lives in Lowa, she will watch the channels available in New Mexico. In addition, you can set (on the same account) up to three TVs if you are not connected to the same WIFI. Let us know if we can assist you with another inquiry.
