shows cut off at end

There’s always a possibility the DVR made a ‘mistake’ while recording the program or it was performing other activities while the program was supposed to record. What is the receiver model and what shows specifically do this? Have you tried a red button reset? (Side by the access card for the HR54 series or front where it says ‘PRESS’)

Thanks, I just did the reset twice, we'll see what happens.

Also the system didn't record a show I have on series recording last night.

Most of these recordings are sports related or Pro Wrestling that may go over a few minutes.
Cant find a way to extend the recording time as I have no access to RECORDING MANAGER mentioned.
I also turned off the AUTOPLAY NEXT EPISODE. Saw somewhere that may be a problem.

I'm puzzled that you have no "Recording Options" menu.

What DVR model number do you have?

That's a DirecTV Stream box, not DirecTV Satellite. I'll move your post to the correct Forum.

Note that DirecTV Stream does not have the ability to extend recording times. Some sports broadcasts will do this automatically, but not all have that feature yet.

@murphcc1 , not all content is recordable per content provider rights:
1. If there is not a Record (REC) button, the programming is not recordable.
2. If content is not recordable, it may be available on demand.

The shows ARE recordable as evidence of past and current recordings.
But they are cut off a few minutes at the end and I dont see the end of the show.

The workaround, as you probably know, is to set a recording for the show that airs after your sports show. 

Yea I know I can do that, kind a of pia though.

it is as if the shows are actually being sent to us viewers a minute later

than stated in the guide.  the last punchline of most sitcoms gets cut off when we record those shows, but luckily on satellite there is a way to add an extra minute to the end of scheduled recordings.
