Sports Pack added - Free for life?
So we just received an email saying "you added to your DirecTV lineup" and in the email it shows the Sports Pack was added at no cost and it shows this:
Product(s)/Promotion(s) Added (effective immediately)
DIRECTV Sports Pack @ $0/mo, free for life time
I did not call and add anything, nor did I add this pack online. And I did check and I do have the channels in the Sports Pack now. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to have this for free, but just trying to figure out why this suddenly showed up/was added to my account. We have DirecTV over internet and the Premier package.

And, if it makes any difference, when we signed up last weekend, we signed up with a 2 year contract.

@bcbsncjlj DirecTV seems to use the name DirecTV Stream very freely. I know I signed up for DirecTV over Internet. And I know that is a "DirecTV" product and not a DirecTV Stream product. Yet, I received an email from DirecTV Stream yesterday about how to personalize my new DirecTV Stream service, but today's email was just from DirecTV. They seem very confused about what they are calling their products.

In looking on the directv.com website I see it does say this with the Premier package "Includes every DIRECTV Sports Pack channel & NFL RedZone from NFL Network". Not sure if that is something new they are doing or if it somehow didnt get added when I signed up but at least it makes sense now.

@bcbsncjlj The Premerie package is offered through DIrectv Stream and Via the Internet but with Directv Stream Via the Internet there are contracts it is like the Sat service just streamed instead and you get your first Gemini box free then you pay $15 per every extra box and you have to pay a monthly advanced receiver fee. But it is very confusing all the differences that they have made over the past year.

@Tiger593 I don’t believe it’s $15 per box. It’s a flat monthly fee of $15. We have 3 boxes now (2 Gemini Air and one Gemini) abs only pay one $15 advanced receiver fee.

@bcbsncjlj DirecTV could solve so many issues by naming the Streaming service something different. Like I mentioned, I know I have DirecTV via Internet, but even when I log into my DirecTV account and look at my Profile I have something that says "DirecTV Stream Account Number". They are creating a lot of confusion with how they are naming their products.

@bcbsncjlj I disagree with you I have regular Directv Stream and have had it long before the change-over happened and all the confusion began. I can change my package to the premier package but do not think it is worth the price. This is in my account overview where I can change my package subscription.
