stream counter not updated when signing out, can't signon to another tv.

Often when going from living room tv to office tv I exit the app on the living room tv but then can't stream on office tv for an hour or two.  Problem has been reported to directv chat multiple times with no resolution.  Each time asking the same troubleshooting steps over and over.   I am getting frustrated it doesn't work better.

Anyone?  When I leave my living room to go to my office every day at 3pm I exit my directv app on my living room tv, and then turn off my firestick and tv.  I go to my office and find no streams available.   Returning to the living room tv I find I can turn it back on and it work.   This is frustrating me because I have this problem often.  My other 2 streams are working but I pay for three streams and often can't use three streams.  What's worse is DirecTv promises they will fix it for me and promises an email follow up but never does.  Each time I report the problem I feel I am starting over.  So really I have two issues, one with not being able to use 3 streams and the second that support is not being truthful.

I have clearly explained my issue.  IT's not complicated.  If you have a suggestion on how I may resolve it please post it here.  I am upset with DTV right now and want my issue and resolution to be seen. thank you,

Here is an issue number I was given by support and promised an email follow up... 1181270482.  Let me know if that gives you the information you need.

Every single time over the last 4-5 years I have reported a problem and have been promised it would be followed up on and I would be notified.  Not a single time were any of my problems addressed with me.   I don't expect any better this time.

Does anyone know  the triggers for the stream count to be release (I don't know that is the correct wording for what I am asking).  If three streams are in use and I log off my living room TV and go to my office TV does logging off release the stream?  What about just powering off my TV and FireTv cube?   Does that release the stream?  Are there timers in place?  Back when I beta tested the Directv Stream box (I think it was ATT then) there was a lot of discussion in their beta forum about the box continue to stream even when turning it off.  You don't really get a chance on it to log out.  And also I am still on the legacy Go Big plan from early on and my streaming limits may be different.  thanks!

With my Go Big legacy package setting the home location is not allowed.  I don't get to set a 'home' location and have as many devices there as I want like newer packages.  I am limited to 3 concurrent devices.  When I power off or unplug my FireTV Cube I can turn it back on an hour later and it goes directly to streaming the channel I was last on.  I can't say for sure but it is like the streaming never stopped.  I kind of suspect that is what the issue is and my testing is that it doesn't matter if you actually exit the app.

Logging off the app should definitely release the stream.  Stopping and returning to the menu of shows should release the stream.  Turning off the TV (unless you have a Smart TV where the client actually runs within the TV) will not change the status of the stream.  Powering off the streaming device will not immediately release the stream, but should cause it to be released after some timeout interval.

And then sometimes when I turn off/logoff/poweroff ,  whatever my FireTV cube on my living room TV it does work moving to my office because one of my girlfriends at one of their houses does not have it on.  Then a little later they turn their TV on and ask me why they can't stream.  Then only solution is tell her to wait and try later and that it is a stupid DirecTV  problem and that my TV's are all off.

Well DirecTVhelp has left me hanging after suggesting I upgrade to a new plan with more streaming devices.   They just said I was at my 3 device limit.   They didn't acknowledge a problem and stopped responding.  I should have expected that.

@Johndeve we hear you and want to help.

You can try some of the tips given by @bcbsncjlj and @JefferMC to release the stream, and keep us posted on the results.

We can also review troubleshooting options on our end by engaging in a private message. Keep in mind that is not safe to share any account or personal information on a public platform, hence we recommend you to delete the post were you sent us your number.
