Streaming Device Limits
Hello! Just looking for some clarification on the 3 outside of the home devices streaming limit.
1.) If I login to a network’s personal app using a device outside of my home (for example the Game Show Network’s app…not the DirectTV Stream app), does this count as one of my devices?
And 2.) Does the device limit apply to how many devices you can stream at once or how many devices period? To be clear, can I login to say 5 devices outside my home network but only stream 3 or fewer at a time? We have multiple iPads in our family and trying to figure out how this would work.

1. No, but I do believe specific apps have a limit of the amount of devices, but it is a bigger number like 20 so you shouldn’t be concerned.
2. The device limit applies to the amount of devices using DIRECTV STREAM simultaneously. It won’t apply to just devices inactivate but logged into the account.

On this same topic, is there a method using my DirecTV Stream email account to see the number of concurrent devices having active streams, along with a method to clear any of my streams ???
Thank you in advance for your prompt response.

How do I log out all devices/apps so that they have to sign back in with new password?

There's no way to force all devices to log out of your account. About the best you can do is change your password. Eventually those devices will need to reauthorize their subscription.

“Eventually” meaning when? I changed the password to try to achieve this and so far no one has been asked to sign in again.

Does watching a recorded show on the DVR count as a streaming for the 3 streaming count?

So, if a show is recording (but not being watched) does that also count as a streaming?

What brand/model smart TV? Perhaps you can download the DirecTV Stream App from the TV's App Store? Otherwise, you'll need a streaming device, such as Roku, FireStick, DirecTV Stream box, Apple TV, etc.

Is there a way to see the zip code that is considered the "Home" zip code?

"Home" is not a zip code but a particular network - whatever network your first streaming device was on when you initially logged in. Any devices also on that network are considered part of "home".
And this question has nothing to do with the topic of this thread. If that answer isn't sufficient, please start a new thread with an appropriate subject so that other users can respond appropriately.

They do say that a lot, and that does impact (at least on most streaming devices) what locals you get. But that’s not what @Mrothgeb was asking. Billing zip doesn’t set your home network from the point of view of streaming limits. Quoting from their article on the home network:
And the article goes on to say it is that network that gets the special treatment from a device limit point of view.
Unless they do geolocation on that device at the time (or perhaps if it is an AppleTV), they won’t know the physical location of that network. If they do, I don’t know what happens if the physical location doesn’t match the billing address - but my guess is that they don’t check, so don’t really care.

I understand that there are no customer tools that the consumer can use to identify or clear any out-of-home streams, but if you call DirecTV, does anyone know if can they do it? or if a supervisor can do it? many thanks
