Streaming local channels away from home
I need some clarity on streaming local channels, I have not been able to find the answer yet. I am looking at signing up with Direct TV streaming. I have 3 TV's at home and we have a vacation home in another state with 2 TV's. I would like to be able to stream our local channels here at home (our primary location), and while at our vacation home would like to get the channels that are local to that location in order to get local weather, etc. Probably looking at Fire sticks or the Direct TV Boxes to connect to the TV's. Can someone help explain if this is possible or how this will work? The FAQ's on the Direct TV website do not specifically address this issue.

You will need a device that has HPS or location services to get the away locals. Fire Sticks and Rokus do not have these features. You will need the DirecTV streaming box or an Apple device.

Cheapest option is to do a chromecast and use your phone if you like that kind of setup. Doesn't have to be the new chrome cast with Google TV, can be the cheaper ones or if you have a smart TV with a casting option. If not like the previous poster said a stream box or something with location services. If I'm not mistaken a fire cube has location services too but sometimes those devices don't always show your location even when enabled which will cause your locals to revert to the billing address. Best best is to cast, no issues no worries. By best... meaning cheapest.

Link works fine. Are you using a browser to view? Do you have any extensions loaded that may be causing a conflict? Have you tried using incognito mode?

Hello @newp210 happy to help you with the locals channels questions
To get the local channels based on the zip code that you are located, please follow the steps.
1. Press Home on your remote.
2. Open Settings > General > System Summary.
3. Make sure your ZIP Code is correct.
4. Go to Location > Location Status and toggle OFF.
5. Press the red button on the side of your device to restart it.
6. Toggle your Location Status ON after you restart.

@DIRECTVhelp Those procedures only work if you are using the DirecTV Stream box. Make sure you make this known to the users. These procedures are not used by the service with Roku's and Fire Sticks.
