Streaming Regional content when Away from Home

I am considering the switch to DirecTV for several reasons - and need some clarification on how streaming works while away from home.

I want to stream in 2 locations that are within 100 miles of each other - and if I put in these 2 zip codes, the same regional channels show up.

So - can I assume these will work in both locations based on the Router Information??  Will anything be blocked based on my billing zip code?  In particular - I want to watch regional sports channel - and I want to ensure that it will not be blocked at my other location.

Any further details welcome....  Thank You.

It depends on your streaming device. What device(s) will you be using?

I have a slightly older SAMSUNG TV (2015) that is not compatible with the DirecTV App - so I will be using a FireTV Stick.

Hello @jjbird58 , I can help you clarifying the information about streaming local channels.

Let me share with you that the local networks available are determined by your billing ZIP Code . When you are outside of the billing zip code you can still watch local channels. The location service must be turned ON to receive local channels by the device location.

If the location service is turned off or not operating properly, you are going to receive local channels based on your billing Zip Code.

Let us know any question.

Local channels are based on the service address not billing address.
