Streaming using chrome

When graphics are on the screen the graphics channel is dark.  When you are watching a program that is dark you can't see anything.  A programmer could fix this very easily, he would need to change the opacity of the graphics or overlay channel.  The people on chat are useless with this problem.  They look through a list and find nothing so it is your problem.  Does anyone know how to get to technical people?  As soon as some other streamers pick up my regional sports stations I'll be leaving if this isn't fixed.  This operation is not as smooth as YouTubeTV or Hulu and it's a little more expensive.

Hi @JohnGn , we are here to help.

We know how important is to get the right brightness when you are watching your favorite programming. You can try these steps to enable the high contrast mode in your browser to see if this helps you to resolve the issue. In your Chrome browser please follow these steps:

1. Click the Settings button.
2. Open the Accessibility settings.
3. Select Manage accessibility features.
4. Enable high contrast mode.
5. High contrast mode in action.

Also, could you please confirm what device are you using? This in order to check the compatibility of it. You can also check the compatible devices in this link.

The problem is not contrast.  if you understand::

Opaque - can't see through

Translucent - allows you to see through with variable amount of light passing

Transparent - clear allows all light to pass through

The problem then is a translucent layer is placed on the screen whenever there is graphics on the screen.  It is like pulling down a venetian blind over a window with bright sunlight, you block some of the light but not all of the light.

So what I'm saying is the graphics layer should be transparent and then you would only see the words or the pause/play button on top of the picture.  This has to be handled in programming.  It is not a browser or device problem!

Hi, @JohnGn thanks for clarifying this for us and taking the time to share your insights.

Thanks for bringing to our attention the translucent layer that is making the programming darker than usual. We will share this feedback to the right parties to share this information with the broadcaster, so we can improve your watching experience.

This happens when the Play/Pause button is on the screen.  I don't know what you mean by the "broadcaster", the original broadcaster doesn't put the play/pause buttons on the screen, that is done by DirecTV's streaming program.

BTW, it behaves the same way in the Edge browser.

I hope this is helpful. The same thing happens on the android app but you can touch the screen to remove it immediately.
