What streaming device are you using? What is your current wiring setup? (in other words, how are you wiring the streaming device to the speakers?) What exact issue with the surround sound are you having? What speakers?
The Streaming device supplied by AT&T... We replaced U-verse with streaming. Audio came from TV HDMI connection to Amp. Nothing has changed. We get sound, but not surround or Dolby
There is no HDMI audio output connection on the back of the streaming device. However, there looks like an optical connection on the back of the device, but I am not sure. We have not examined the smart tv's settings to see if we need to change any to support streaming. I don't think there is.
Getting support was a nightmare. My wife and I were on phone for 1.5 hrs. Finally, a rep suggested to resent my TV's surround setting. Why????? Now, I just don't have base.
We lose channels intermittently. Rep suggested that I needed to upgrade my Inet speed. I am looking at COX.

What happens if you connect your DirecTV Stream directly to your Amp? Perhaps your TV is messing up the digital stereo audio?
