Unable to change billing address to get local channels on DirecTV Stream
I moved to Indiana from the middle Tennessee area over a year ago. When I created my DirecTV stream account shortly before the move, I gave my card information, and I suppose my card was associated with the address (my parents') in Tennessee. So once in Indiana, I noticed that I had the Nashville area local channels, not Indiana. I didn't mind too much then, since it was familiar, but recently I've wanted to switch over to getting the local Indiana channels. Recently, I received a new card since the previous one was expiring soon. In the process of activating this card (which is the same number, just a different 3-number security code and expiration date) I did finally update my main address through my bank. On DirecTV's website, I've tried to update my billing address through "My Payment Info," but every time it rejects it, says "Card declined," and the address remains the Tennessee one. The card though is accurate, and I've been billed and been able to make payments with it with no issue. So I'm unsure why it refuses to take my actual address. If it's relevant, it is technically a debit card, which I've read elsewhere could be an issue? But like I said, I've been able to pay my bills on this account for the past year with a debit card, so I don't think that's the problem. Anyway, I would just like to know how I can update this address. If I have to call, so be it, but I thought I'd try my hand with this forum first. Thanks!

Is the address associated with the card correct? The billing address must match the CC address. I never understood that "debit" cards were accepted by the service. As previously stated, the alternative (which I use) is to use PayPal.

@Brenna_H - it certainly was the case in the past that debit cards weren't accepted (for some reason), but according to this, they are now. I assume you tried using the info here to change the address and that was what rejected it? I am guessing that the card (account) itself didn't change, just the address associated with it. Since a debit card doesn't have a billing address in the same sense that a credit card does, perhaps that is the issue. As was suggested, you can contact Support (chat link and phone numbers at the bottom of this page) - they aren't great with technical issues but should be able to help with account and payment problems. If that doesn't do it, as a last ditch effort, you are supposed to be able to manually change your "home" location using the instructions here. I believe this may only work if you are using one of the DirecTV Stream streaming devices (called Osprey or Gemini).
