Unable to fast forward a pre-recorded DVR show

Unable to fast forward through the commercials in our pre-recorded news show (FOX).  I have been with DIRECTV Stream for years with no problems.  Starting last week, I am unable to zip through the commercials.  I get a pop up message stating “Unable to fast forward ,etc.” What is going on?  I do not watch commercials,,,, EVER.  Has DIRECTV Stream changed the rules without telling us.  Unacceptable.  Currently looking for other options.  I will hate to leave but I do not watch commercials, EVER!

Are you sure it is a DVR recording? On-demand recordings state this. Otherwise, what is the content specifically and which channel was it recorded from?

You might be watching a VOD. Make sure you trigger the recording from your Playlist instead of going to the series details. VOD surfaces first i think.
