Using Directv, Unable to Rewind/Fast-forward w/Chromecast remote

We understand these features are important for you. However, the fast-forward option on live shows is available only through the DIRECTV STREAM box. You can fast-forward for 15 seconds on other devices but only on the recordings. It works only with a DIRECTV remote, that may be the reason why you're not able to rewind or fast-forward with the Chromecast remote.

Are you stating that a universal remote will not pair and fast-forward and rewind? Best Buy just informed me a universal remote will do this, and I called DTV Stream where a tech instructed me to purchase a universal remote to do rewind and fast-forward. Please expound, knowledgeable tech. Do it all, please? Thanks and what universal remote to buy that will operate all functions? 

There is only one type of universal remote that I know of that will work with Directv Stream devices and that is the Logitech Harmony remote.  You should be able to control all of your devices with this remote. Hope this helps. 

Hi, Tiger. I have no boxes, just DTV Stream Cloud. I have an LG Smart TV. Is the Logitech Harmony remote the one to use with DTV Stream Cloud with my TV without the dvr boxes? Just want to be sure about this. Thanks. 

Since you are using Directv Streaming and streaming through a TV app your best bet would be to buy an external streaming device such as Roku/Fire Stick for viewing your Directv Streaming Service.  As most TV app versions of Directv Stream are not updated as they should be causing errors with FF and RW as you are having.  Getting a new remote will not fix your issue as this is a bug in the TV app.  Getting an external device to add to your TV should make it so that you can fast-forward and rewind normally so that it no longer seizes up on you.
