Using Weather Channel App on Samsung TV

Since we have unrelenting issues with the DirecTV App, I've resorted to a group a specific apps to view specific Live Channels.

I installed 'The Weather Channel' app but their network doesn't recognize DirecTV Stream as a provider. It does see DirecTV as a provider nut that is the satellite service and I don't have am account with that service.

It would be nice if someone with DirecTV Stream would inform The Weather Channel to be included as a provider.

Not every network is supported by the apps. Apps have fees. The full list of supported networking apps is located here

I have contacted the Weather Channel people for months about this on twitter.

Try AT&T uverse if you see that option. If you don't see Direct TV it should work with AT&T.. I am able to use the TWC app on Roku and Google TV.

ATT Uverse didn't work for me. Luckily I just switched over from Mediacom cable tv (kept their internet) a few months ago and can still use my login credentials with them to use the Weather Channel app.

Evidently the Weather Channel app still thinks AT&T Uverse is DirecTV Stream.

I picked AT&T Uverse as my provider and it unlocked the app. However, I did have to do it twice. Why... I'm not sure. The first attempt showed me a Success but the app didn't unlock. I did it a second time with a refreshed code from the app and it worked.

My ISP (Spectrum) works for me. I do not have cable with them either.

That's correct. For Spectrum all you need is Internet service with them and you get access to the weather channel app using your Spectrum credentials..

Same goes for Mediacom. I have internet only with them and my credentials with them work for the Weather channel app.

The old "Time Warner Cable" (before the Charter buy-out, now Spectrum) also use to offer EPIX free also. No longer available. What other secret supported apps they offer is unknown.
