Watching Recorded Shows Cannot Fast Forward without Jumping Back To Beginning
When watching a recorded show and fast forwarding, we frequently get a spinning circle and an error message indicating something about a congested network, then it reverses the recording back to the beginning. No one else is using the Internet. This happens so frequently so that we’ve given up fast forwarding. We have Google Fiber.

Streaming device is a newer Samsung TV.

I'm not surprised. The Samsung streaming app has always had issues. You'll have much better experience with a streaming device, like Roku, Fire, Apple TV, or DirecTV Stream box.

Did you ever get an answer to your question? We are having the exact same problem when watching things we have recorded on DIRECTV. We get the spinning circle, and the little note at the bottom and it puts us back to the beginning where we started to fast forward from.

What streaming device? As mentioned, the Samsung app is junk. Best to use a proper streaming device.
