Why aren’t my selected programs recording?
I have selected several programs that I would like to be recorded every time they air. There are three news programs that get recorded every day without fail. There are nine other programs that come on less often. For some reason, a few months ago, DIRECTV stopped recording them. Why am I only getting the news programs? I don’t think the storage is full, since the news programs get recorded every single day. I have all the programs set up to “record the series.” I’m only getting news programs. Nothing else

I’m a senior citizen, so I’m not sure I know what you mean by streaming devices. I just have DIRECTV as my television provider. We only subscribed to Netflix, but I’m just trying to record programs off the television.

I'm wondering how you're viewing DirecTV. Do you have DirecTV Satellite? DirecTV Stream? Or is DirecTV provided where you're living?
If you're only subscribed to Netflix then you can't view or record any DirecTV channels. Netflix is a separate streaming service.
Please post back with more details about how you're viewing DirecTV, what equipment you have, and exactly what you're trying to record.
