Will the AT&T IP phone caller ID Display on Direct TV Stream device?
We were a uVerse customer with bundled AT&T phone and Internet.
I've just converted to AT&T DirectTV Stream, and was wondering if I can still get the caller ID display on incoming calls through the AT&T streaming devices the way I did with the AT&T uVerse receivers.

We are in exactly the same situation here and, so far, we have been unable to get the caller ID display on incoming calls through the AT&T streaming devices the way we did with the AT&T uVerse receivers. No help from the AT&T "support" personnel, so if you find a solution, please post it for all to view.

Hi @rjedlicki, we're grateful for having you as a customer.
It's important to bear in mind that DIRECTV now works on its own. We know the benefits our customers get when we work in projects with other companies, so our communications will include info about joint venues that might interest you.
AT&T had AT&T TV as a streaming platform, but those products and devices are now part of DIRECTV without any immediate link to any other company. That's why there aren't announcements of a work in progress with any cellphone carrier to add that functionality.
This could be a good option that DIRECTV might consider in the future, we do hear our customers for ideas.

The phone lines were added in the earlier days of satellite TV as a way to communicate with the receivers, for updates, and because if that need caller ID was added as a feature. As we have progressed all updates were done via satellite and the need got smaller for the use of the phone lines. Today less people have land lines and many of the modern landlines phones have caller ID features like verbal announcement of the caller, so the need for caller ID on TV devices has decreased.

AT&T TV didn't have caller ID on the TV either. Even when the service was an AT&T service, there was no connection (physical or logical) between any phone service and the TV device or service.
And for that matter, when I had U-Verse, it supported caller ID only when I also had U-Verse phone - not any other AT&T phone service.
