Limited On Demand on Receiver

I keep going to on demand on my uverse receiver to search for episodes for shows. The choices are pitifully limited. But on uverse app on the AMAZON fire tv stick the on demand shows I want are usually available. The same is true of the on demand options via the uverse app on my phone. 

For instance...my family is into Food Network's Halloween Baking Championship. When I search for the show on demand via my uverse receiver I only see one episode; and it may or may not be the most recent episode. If I go to the uverse app on my phone or Amazon fire tv stick all episodes are available. This happens on other networks and if he shows I've attempted to watch on demand. 

What's up with that? Makes no sense to have worse on demand options on the receiver than are available on apps.
