Loss of channels

AT&T has failed to properly prepare for the  anticipated end of contract negotiation with Nexstar - resulting in the loss of ABC station, a MAJOR network. This continues to happen, as in the past, when other channels were removed from the lineup - as your customers continue to pay increased costs in service. We set up another TV(purchased an antennae) that would give us this basic channel for the interim - assuming we will get the channel back at some time in the future!  I think it's time to contact other providers who can provide continuing service that we PAY for and don't get with AT&T.

Yes, and when I do that I only get this post llisted & none of the other ones I've done. I had 25 other posts before.

As you can see in my starting post above, the post in question actually had information customers could use. I would like to be able to post this info in a stand-alone thread and not be bunched up in a humongous thread where the useful info would get lost.  If it helps, I'll remove the "greedy butt" reference (even if its valid).

Not sure what’s wrong but when I click your profile, I see you have 27 posts and I can see all of them.

I did hit 'View All' and all I see is this current post.

I'd give you a screencap, but for some reason it won't accept my jpegs...

Package includes locals in general. There is never a guarantee of how many locals, or any specific locals are provided. They can list what they currently have, but there is no promise that they will always be there as they don't own the channels. All TV providers have in their terms that channels are subject to change so it is not a violation of your contract. Your local affiliate owner wants to increase costs, so of course it is about the all mighty dollar. Would you be happy to have the channel back immediately and just take on the increased rates?

(d) Our Programming Changes.

Many factors affect the availability, cost and quality of programming and may influence the decision to raise prices and the amount of any increase. These include, among others, programming and other costs, consumer demand, market and shareholder expectations, and changing business conditions. Accordingly, we reserve the unrestricted right to change, rearrange, add or delete our programming packages, the selections in those packages, our prices, technologies used to deliver the Service, and any other Service we offer, at any time.

My husband has been pushing for years to drop U-Verse and do what so many of our friends and family have already done and get a fire stick. This latest contract issue may be the last straw for us. What are you doing to keep long time, loyal customers like me from leaving?

They increase their rates all the time. Doesn’t matter if there are any blackouts. You either go with the increase or choose someone else. They control the increases. What I don’t understand with the problem of the black out is that AT&T blames Nexstar (owner) and Nexstar blames AT&T. What exactly is it? It all boils down to who is going to get the most money. Not about the customer.

I am an AT&T U-verse subscriber, who is currently affected by AT&T’s battle with Nexstar, and am consequently not receiving local programming.  Insofar as receiving local programming was a significant factor in our signing on with AT&T U-Verse, how much of a refund or deduction from our monthly bill should we expect from this disruption of services?

Your customers are paying good money on a monthly basis with the expectation that you will provide the services we are paying for. Since your company is in a dispute with Nexstar, it is your responsibility to do right by your loyal customer by at least taking off some of the cable bill until this is resolved.

Failure to do this shows you are not putting your customer first. I’m not asking for a free month of cable but at least DO RIGHT for the customers in some fashion. It’s impossible for the customer to know who’s in the wrong (AT&T or Nexstar). One side will always point fingers at the other. All I know is we are paying YOU. So if you care about the customer and their experience with your services, please do the right thing.

If I receive a generic response to my post pointing me to a link explaining everything from your side, that will not be a step in the right direction.

ATT Uverse Topeka, Kansas.  We cannot get NBC or FOX.  My main concern is NBC for weekly programs coming back on for a new season.  Like Blacklist & New Amsterdam.  How are we to acquire this station now?  Switch to another service?

Why did we loose our local station July 3rd.   If this does not get worked out I will be switching my service.  Not having my favorite local channel and loosing ability to watch cbs is unacceptable.  If this is not done within a week I’m calling to cancel service.
