Loss of channels
AT&T has failed to properly prepare for the anticipated end of contract negotiation with Nexstar - resulting in the loss of ABC station, a MAJOR network. This continues to happen, as in the past, when other channels were removed from the lineup - as your customers continue to pay increased costs in service. We set up another TV(purchased an antennae) that would give us this basic channel for the interim - assuming we will get the channel back at some time in the future! I think it's time to contact other providers who can provide continuing service that we PAY for and don't get with AT&T.

@phytoplankton Former employees that have been separated from the company at least 8years will have the same tag as the general public
While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

What is that sound in the distance??? I believe that's the sound of wheels spinning.
Don't mess with old people. The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

As announced to dat, CBS owned stations should be restored since an agreement has been finalized. Unfortunately, if you have a station owned by Nexstar then you are still out of luck. Maybe soon!
For DirecTV Satellite, call 1-800-531-5000.
For DirecTV Stream, call 1-888-429-4023.

Sorry but what you consider to be "implied" contract is different from the actual one in the Terms of Service in print.
It would be IMPOSSIBLE for any TV provider to guarantee that any channel will always be there. They don't own the channels, they simply have a carriage agreement. And all those agreements end at different times. At the end of the day, DirecTV/AT&T cannot force the channel to always be on as it is owned by someone else. Thankfully negotiations with CBS directly owned stations has completed. Now they can focus that much more on resolving the one with Nexstar.

If I were a DirecTV or AT&T employee, I assure you I would be making sure customers were better informed, having the right setup of their services that worked best for them (out of the options available of course), and making sure I could help as many people as I could avoid the trap that I see the Genie-2 (HS17) as. If this forum is any example, I do not relish the though of having to deal with the undue entitlement mentality I have observed. Yes many people are legitimately upset, but I see too many times where it is gone overboard in severity such as "I will fade away if I can't watch my bachelorette@" or "It is only one of 2 channels I watch, I expect half or all my bill will be waived".
Thankfully with the job I do have, it is of actual importance compared to the "tragedy" of finding another channel to watch for a while.

The op states in his post that he/she checked the local channel lookup tool and his/her zipcode does not offer CBS.
The deal that the op is referring to is a deal between AT&T and CBS to get CBS, CBSSport and the CW back in markets that already had them.
It doesn't state that more CBS locals have been made available.

Amazing.
It never ends. First the incessant complaints about the networks being taken off the air. Now this?
IMO it's now business as usual starting at the point in time the new contract was signed. Whatever is supposed to be supplied for on demand under whatever contract att has with cbs will be supplied. IMO neither att nor cbs have any obligation to "make up" for whatever you may have missed. And it's not under att's control anyhow.

I’m on the U300 tier. Aren’t I supposed to get NFL network? It’s not listed in my guide or channel search. NFL games are on now (preseason)
