The reality is owners of local affiliates are pushing for a rate increase. If TV providers (DirecTV, Dish, Comcast, etc) cave then your bill will be that much higher. Switching providers does not protect you against these rate negotiations as the TV providers don't own the channels. This is just DirecTV's turn and then afterwards they move on to the next provider that rebroadcasts them. So it is not DirecTV that needs to "pull their head out" as you say.

Unfortunately AT&T. Started this war by doing the same thing with HBO and trying to extort their competitors I was paying $10 a month on dish network for HBO but AT&T wanted them to buy 500k subscribtions even if they only had 200k .so now it comes back to bite them they have fought everyone the art of extortion

I called WEYI - TV in Flint, Michigan, but was not able to make contact with anyone. I did some research, and it appears that the contract dispute between WEYI and AT&T is a dispute between the ownership of WEYI and DirecTV. This is a U-Verse forum.

 

Here are some web sites that give information about the situation. Due to the fact that almost all of us on this forum are AT&T customers just like you, there is no one here who can give you any inside information about what is going on during this time, or even when WEYI will return to the DirecTV lineup. Contract disputes like this happen all the time, and most come to a successful conclusion.

You need to be more specific. Where are you located, and what are the call letters of Channel 64.

I get channel 10 but am unable to record dtv said it is due to opt right? I should be able to record and watch at a later time..please explain why last week I was able to record but not now?

Your screenshot shows exactly what is going on. The owner of channel 10 (not DirecTV) pulled their feed. Go to https://tvpromise.att.com/ where you can put in your zip code and see who owns that local affiliate.

 

Simply put, this is a rate negotiation. The channel owner has pulled their feed from DirecTV to try and get DirecTV (and us customers by way of our bill) to pay more for their channel. In the meantime connect a regular antenna to your TV to get the FREE broadcast.

 

You can also call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 and ask about their Local Channel Connector (LCC). Connects regular antenna to your DirecTV Genie so you can enjoy the free broadcast without having to switch TV inputs and can still record.

I can’t even get cbs now. 180 a month and I can’t get cbs. Directv rip off. My bill better be 0 this month.

Why are we not even getting CBS. A major network? Common on direct tv at 180 per month I should have better service than this. My bill better be 0 this month or I will be changing providers. Awful awful

You expect your bill to be $0 because a single channel is off as they try and get DirecTV and us customers to pay higher rates? Now that is unrealistic and greedy.

 

Plug in a antenna into your TV and get the free broadcast of the local. You can even call DirecTV 1-800-531-5000 and see about getting a Local Channel Connector (LCC) that allows you to receive the free broadcast through your DirecTV box. Also you may gain other locals within range (like "sub-channels") that DirecTV couldn't provide you.

How much longer will this channel be off? If it isnt resolved soon... I think it's time to start streaming... I spend enough $$$ to at&t... for the few channels I have... very unhappy...customer
