I agree with you, its a shame it has to be this way, but the fact is, some customers who live in rural areas like me do not have a choice of cable and satellite companys because only one or two will service these areas, which in turn leave us frustrated and stuck with what we get, but that doesn't mean we should take it lying down, we have to voice our concerns and at least try to address the issues, we pay for our subscription and we dessrve honest and good service in return! So we will be patient in the meantime, but i don't think alot of people will be sticking around much longer if these things aren't getting resolved!
Nexstar didn't remove channels during negotiations. ATT removed them. Why would anyone believe anything ATT says after the truth has come out?
I'm embarrassed to admit members of my family have been employees of ATT since inception since the 70's, back when it was Bell. They treat employees like they do customers, only the ones in corporate stand by the company and it's lies. They were one of the corporations that lobbied for the 2017 tax break, promising to open more state side call centers and hire more people. Instead, they closed centers in the US, and used the money to enrich the corporate entities. If you want the truth about how ATT 'cares', do a little research.. it's easy to find.
Direct tv has broken their promise to furnish me certain local channels; Therefore I will deduct a percentage from my bill to cover missed programming and their broken promise.
Direct TV promised me local channels in return for a monthly price. They have failed to deliver on this promise. Therefore I will make a deduction in my next bill to cover affected missed programming.
Yes that is true that AT&T removed the Nexstar NBC stations from the lineup but position was renew the contract as is or we won’t renew, they didn’t renew and after the contract ended, guess what, no pay, no play. Nexstar’s stance is use the customers as leverage and AT&T will give in, costs are going up on all sides, look up and dig to see who really owns Nexstar, you will see what the real problem is.
Im giving them a few months to add that local channel back, all my shows are on that station! Thats why i got direct tv, so if its not back, they lost my subscription and im sure others will follow suit!

Sorry that is not how it works. No TV provider guarantees/promises that any channel will always be there. They don't own the channels, therefore cannot force them to be on. If you choose to pay your bill less than owed, then you legitimately would get a late fee as you start down the road of an outstanding balance.
If you call DirecTV, you might get a credit as a courtesy. All TV providers have in their terms that channels can change at any time, so any deduction of cost is not required for a channel or two withholding the feed during negotiations.
(d) Our Programming Changes.
Many factors affect the availability, cost and quality of programming and may influence the decision to raise prices and the amount of any increase. These include, among others, programming and other costs, consumer demand, market and shareholder expectations, and changing business conditions. Accordingly, we reserve the unrestricted right to change, rearrange, add or delete our programming packages, the selections in those packages, our prices, technologies used to deliver the Service, and any other Service we offer, at any time.

you couldn't come to a compremise so we don't have nbc anymore. its been a while since we had that channel. sure hope you all come to an agreement real soon. nbc is the channel that I watch most in the late summer, fall, winter and spring. its a prime time channel and I really really hope I get it back sooner than later. so please work harder with nextar to come to an agreement. or change our bills to a lower price. one or the other cause none of this is right. never lost channels with comcast.alot of your customers are going to leave directv/at&t. the changes you have made was hard enough to deal with but this with nbc is going to far. nextar and directv/at&t need to get back nbc for us before we all leave directv for good!!!
Because these channels have been removed I am only able to get one channel which I never watch. I will switch providers if this is not fixed. This is a breach of contract. You said you would provide these channels when I signed up and I expect to get what I pay for. If you cannot provide that I have no interest in continuing with your company and we'll change providers. I have been a loyal customer for a long time however I'm not paying for channels I can watch and these are my primary channels. I also should not be assessed an early termination fee if I change providers as you have breached the contract between myself and you which regards to the stations I can watch
Absolutely as far as I'm concerned this is a breach of contract between me and AT&T on their part. In exchange for my money they promised I would have certain channels. I'm ready to switch providers and they better not charge me since they broke the contract.

As far as your contract is concerned, it is not a breach. Because TV providers do not own the channels, they cannot force them to stay on or what programming they have. As such the terms of service, for all TV providers, includes a clause that programming is subject to change at any time. If you choose to switch providers, you would have a valid ECF. Really wish Nexstar would return the channels so everyone can move on. I would recommend more people use a regular antenna to get the free broadcasts. That, especially with DirecTV working on their new Local Channel Connector (LCC) would fight back against the locals who remove the feed (as is their right) using us customers as leverage.

ATT UVERSE I have also been loyal but now if I can't watch my recorded shows and get your stupid blue screen about YOUR issues with NBC I will cancel and watch all my shows via roku. I only stay for convenience but that will change bc Roku is more reliable and cheaper anyway

There are other NBC stations that DirectTV has access to. They should be made available to customers until the problem with Nexstar can be resolved.
If not, going Xfinity may be the solution.
