If I had to guess, I'd say the existing Uverse service will keep it's name. Also, satellite service will probably keep the Direct tv name, due to recognziability, and maybe at AT&T to it.

My thoughts as well - "AT&T U-Verse" for the existing U-Verse service, and probably "AT&T DirecTV" for the satellite. (Anything without "DirecTV" in it - for example, AT&T Direct - would be confusing; people might think it's some sort of phone service.
The name "DirecTV" describes it better than any name change would.
hey ace professor, why do YOU like to pick on me?? am I breaking forum decorum? etiquette? are YOU an uverse fan club member? uverse employee? own att stock?
noone was "picking" on you. You started the thread and weren't getting the responses you were hoping for? You asked a question and people were answering it.

Maybe if you added a smiley face to your post we'd have known you were joking.

I agree with this one. DirecTV is a huge brand name and I don't think AT&T would decide to just get rid of the name because they didn't make it.
I'd believe that U-Verse would get a name change before DTV does.

You are the one who started the thread. If you were trying to be funny, you did not suceed.

IMHO, AT&T will never change it's name or add to it's name. We've had that name for a long time now.
AT&T...why would the 5th largest corporation in the world change it's name?
Yes, I do own stock.
Have a great day all!!!!

Brian, weren't you using a different user name at one time? Or are you new?
