When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?
When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA? It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area. Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA. Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

@debmiani
And that is where perception is wrong. I am not a "paid plant". I am a customer, just one who has been around long enough to understand that we as consumers are not entitled to as much as many of us seem to think.
Would you want AT&T to just cave to Tegna's demands allowing that to add to bill increases? The more their costs go up, our bills follow suit. I am not saying Tegna is in the wrong for wanting to get a deal in their favor, just that it wouldn't be in the favor of the customer in that situation.
Sorry that a regular antenna doesn't work where you live. Is simply a suggestion as can work for many people. And you would be surprised at how many people out there thought those free broadcasts were turned off, not realizing the signal was simply converted.
You do subscribe to Tegna via AT&T. And thy are not violating any rules here so FCC cannot do anything. What would help is if during negotiations if TV providers were allowed to provide an out-of-market equivalent local (such as the DNS version). But channel owners have had enough lobbying power that they prevented such an option, and even let the STELAR Act expire which meant even the DNS option went away for many people.
Bottom line, nothing entitles you to getting those channels. You either wait patiently for the negotiations to complete, or switch providers with the full knowledge that it doesn't make you immune. This is just AT&T's turn with this specific channel owner. Hopefully negotiations will not go for too much longer, but nobody can require they come to an agreement before they do.
If people ever wake up to the fact that specific channels are not required to be provided to us and that TV is not a life necessity but simply an entertainment option then I feel the world would be a better place.

Disagree on the subscription. I as the end user am a customer of AT&T - your analogy theoretically excuses every company for poor negotiating with their suppliers! AT&T's lack of concern is an affront to all impacted customers. AT&T does not "guarantee" me service, and yes, ultimately I as a customer can walk. But this is not true market competition. Unlike other industries, in communications, there is a lack of abundant competition due to a limited number of licenses issued by the FCC. AT&T and TEGNA are both very aware of this, ergo they risk the fallout.

We have lost our NBC channel (A major network) on our line up so we do not get to see many of our favorite shows. I hope this is temporary and it will be back on the air soon. It is very sad when a major network is not available. Please get it back as soon as possible. Thank you! Georgia Buckmaster

Not having the channel immediately doesn't mean negotiating is poor. There are 2 side negotiating after all. Sure it would have been better for us to have an agreement reached without channel interruption.
So negotiations can be going strong, but that is for both sides, hence no agreement yet. Though I have no hostilities towards TEGNA, I am in favor of TV provider winning out. As the more channels get paid, the more our bill goes up to cover that subscription.
So my stance is to stay patient instead of being a Veruca ("But I want it now!"). I watch other channels that I have since I am not dependent on any given channel.

@Juniper This is for you....
Don't mess with old people. The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

I'm very upset with the loss of our local CBS affiliate in Houston from AT&T U-verse TV. If it's not resolved soon, I'll be forced to take my business elsewhere. Turns our most of our TV shows are on CBS. Unacceptable!

To all the ATT apologists arguing that ATT is not in the wrong and I should just (Edited per community guidelines) it up and wait.
You miss an important fact - I'm paying ATT they're not paying me. An honest company would have alerted me to this possibly ahead of time sufficient for me to make other plans. I have no other short term alternative.
Strictly going by tort law they are in breach of contract. The reason they aren't is the Terms of Service Agreement we all have to accept is without meaningful recourse for the Customer.
ATT's negotiating tactic to hold their Customers hostage is unworthy of an American company dedicated to free enterprise.
My Senators and Congressmen will be hearing from me on this, especially the next time when ATT's lobbyists need another congressional hand out.
Finally, quite trying to justify ATT's actions in having no regard for the people that allow them to stay in business by spending $$$ with them. Quite frankly they have no regard for their Customers at all, as amply demonstrated this week.
And just so you understand it one last time, I'm paying ATT per their channel lineup I've subscribed to and paid for many, many years. Not Tenga.

What the heck is going on with channel 3? A national major station and you lost contract. I think I should get a discount until this is resolved. Absolutely obnoxious!

Tulane.
My post is not very elegant but I'm angry at the low road ATT has decided to take by making sure it's their Customers who bear the brunt of this dispute.
One I submit could have been easily resolved way before this. It's a calculated risk ATT Corporate is willing to take, and ethically wrong.

So my local cbs station and direct tv are negotiating, meanwhile cbs is airing the game I purchased the nfl ticket for. Direct tv is no longer carrying cbs at the moment. Usually the ticket will not allow me to watch if being televised locally on local channels. I am screwed, correct?
