When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?

When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?  It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area.  Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA.  Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

"AT&T lists what the channels are that are curretnly available. There is no guarantee for how long they will be there."

Thank you for confirming that ATT's channel guide is simply notional and not in fact guaranteed at all, regardless of any other representation they may make.

Keep in mind that is the same for all TV providers. Not a single one can guarantee that those channels will always be available. They don't own them.

Negotiations usually happen behind those closed doors. Usually if pulling the feed is a possibility, the channel owner will do a scrawl message on screen (which is from the channel so everyone sees it regardless of how they get it). There have been times the channel pulls the feed without advanced threat/notice, but that is rare.

Since TV providers don't own the channels, expecting channel lineups to stay the same is naïve.

Good morning.  Yes we shouldn't have to go Thur this while you'll get the stations straight.

“For those who call them children and say let the adults fix it, put your money where you mouth is. Get yourself qualified and see if you can get hired to be on their negotiation team. If you do not have the qualifications and experience to be at a negotiation table of that level, then let the true adults continue talking.”

As paying customers, we are putting our money where our mouth is.  We’re saying, we pay you for service and expect you to provide it.

ATT points at Tegna and says look at what they’re doing.  Tegna points at ATT and says look what they’re doing.  A bunch of childish behavior that does not solve the problem.

As customers, it’s not our job to get qualified to do theirs.  We vote out members of Congress that don’t do their job.  As paying customers, we our using our voice to say to both sides, grow up, quit the childish blame games, and resolve the issue.

I am very disappointed that Direct TV has not come to an agreement with the CBS affiliate in my market

This happens to every tv provider. I lost my local NBC channel but in my local market, Dish subscribers have lost the local FOX and CW stations.

Will games be blacked out on Sunday Ticket even though TEGNA is not available?

NFL blackout rules do not change because a TV provider and a channel owner are negotiating. So any in-market games you watch on your locals, even if by regular antenna.

To make a business decision one needs to know what the product to be purchased consists of. In ATT's case, they represented the channel lineup and then unilaterally decided not to honor their product in full.

I don't buy products based upon a vague promise to honor the deal.

Tegna, trying to boost the price for the FOX channel, I need another way to watch my football game. We have the Sunday Ticket football package. With FOX not making the Steelers game available where I live, can I find the Pittsburgh Steelers game on one of my Sunday Ticket channels?

That depends. If your local Fox station is carrying the game, it will be blacked out on Sunday Ticket. It does not matter whether Directv is carrying your local channel or not, it will still be blacked out. If no local channel is carrying the game, then yes it’s on Sunday Ticket. The Steelers aren’t normally on Fox, they are normally on CBS but there is no Steelers game today, anyway.

In-market games are still on the local. You will need to use a regular antenna, or try Locast if available for you.

NFL doesn't change their blackout rules when other entities are negotiating.

The Steelers game is tomorrow and yes, it’s on Fox and since it’s a national broadcast, it won’t even be on Sunday Ticket.

Update: turns out it will be on Sunday Ticket, channel 712 but local blackout rules still apply.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

Both sides will market/spin the situation to put themselves in better light, just like most companies. Negotiations will take as long as they need to as that is how they work. Saying they need to agree now does nothing as we cannot make one find the other's current offer as acceptable. Negotiations between two corporations are not quick and simple as between two individuals.

They are providing the service you pay for. There is no obligation they provide you that channel. Neither we nor the TV provider owns it. It is owned by Tegna. In the end it is up to them on when (if) they provide it. It could be back quicker by TV provider by increasing rates for it, but then customers would just complain all over again.

But if using a regular antenna is not feasible where you live and you just cannot be patient and watch something else on all your other channels, then go ahead and switch providers. Would be better than the tantrum some throw on here.

Then you don't get any TV provider as they all work the same on this. You can start with a provider and within weeks a channel could pull for negotiations, part ways, or shutdown. TV is a fluid service, not static. So expecting it to stay the same is not facing reality. I'm sorry it is not the answer you want, but this is how pay TV works. It is subject to change at any time.

Ideally it doesn't happen often. But there cannot be a guarantee that it doesn't.

Would you like to settle your contracts NOW or wd you like us to change service?  Enough!  It’s a major network.  Free w an antenna!   Restore services NOW, like in a matter of days, or we”ll cancel after almost 20 years w your service.  And stop trying to getting your customers to lean on other companies.  Not our job.  You get paid to successfully negotiate, so DO IT.

Log into your account online if you have Uverse or DirecTV.  The refund is not available to ATT TV customers.

Which TV service do you have?  You have posted in the ATT TV forum but are asking about Uverse.

Uverse TV and AT&T TV are two different services.

UverseTV and DirecTV customers can get a credit.  AT&T TV customers cannot.
