When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?
When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA? It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area. Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA. Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

@OttoPylot please provide the links to the unbiased inforation that you have that indicates that TEGNA is making 'unreasonable' demands.

It is going on a week now with Tegna and U-verse still not resolving their contract issues -- what is going on? Channel 5, KSDK, is the channel we watch most. Is there any kind of refund available for all those missed shows?

You need to fix this ASAP. So far we have missed football games and my daughter has been recording a show and will miss the final 2 episodes of the season bc you and Tenga can work out a deal. ATT and TENGA are multi-million dollar companies so just compromise with them
This is not the first time you’ve done this. Maybe it’s time to find a more competent provider? This is ridiculous. The amount you charge is too high to start with and now you black out our local station? Merry Christmas...

I am not an employee of ATT
You need to make your deal with TENGA ASAP. I’ve missed big football games, shows I record weekly, and my local news. My daughter has been recording a show and is missing the last 2 episodes of the season.
ATT and TENGA are both multi-million dollar companies. I am charged an exorbitant amount for monthly service and you can’t make a deal? This is not the first time you have taken a local station off the air in my area.
Please do you jobs and make the deal.
maybe we all need to consider finding new service survivors??
Merry Christmas

Are you kidding me with this (Edited per community guidelines)?? DirectTV couldn't hold onto NBC? What the ever loving (Edited per community guidelines) is going on over there. Premium or specialty channels is one thing but you (Edited per community guidelines)tards couldnt negotiate with NB-(Edited per community guidelines)ing-C?!? I would expect this from some 3rd rate local cable provider, but not Direct-TV. What CEO's restarted nephew was put in charge of program negotiations. Come on! For the love of (Edited per community guidelines), get your (Edited per community guidelines) together.

@Mssparks
So have them cave to TEGNA and add that to our bills accordingly? I certainly don't want that.
Now TEGNA could return the feed as a sign of good faith, but they have chosen not to (as is their right). AT&T did not black out the channel as TEGNA has the broadcast rights, like all other channel owners.
You will not find a provider immune from channel negotiations or channels being pulled. Locals have been doing this more often in recent years with all the TV providers. This is not an issue exclusive to AT&T.
If you are within range use a antenna to get the free broadcast. If not, enjoy another of your many channels while they get negotiations completed. It is not the end of the world.

Are we going to get a discount on our bill for the missing channels during this issue?
Also. What’s up with On Demand. Almost down to nothing to watch!

Please work out the contract disputes between Directv and ABC!!! Customers are the losers here. It's a pain to switch service but if this continues, there will be no options. Really, get it together!!!

When are you guys going to grow up? You act like divorced parents or partisan members of congress trying to agree on something. Take your pick. Either way, we the customers are the victims and both sides try to use us as pawns to get their way. Grow up or quit your jobs and go sit at the kids table so the real adults can fix this.

"The other providers (Comcast, Spectrum, etc) all have contracts with their specific affiliate providers so this can happen, and will happen to any provider.
Read your TOS."
Tegna has agreements with other cable service providers in my area. ATT is the sole exception. Why is that the case? Tegna says:
"We negotiate agreements for the rights to carry our stations with video service providers like DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse. WWL and WUPL have agreements in place with all of the video providers in our area, including DISH, Cox, Spectrum, and Comcast.
We have made clear that we are prepared to reach a deal at rates that are competitive with the rates that we have recently agreed to with operators of all sizes. So far, DIRECTV and AT&T U-Verse have refused to reach an agreement."
Read your TOS - what other channels are ATT planning to delete? Should I be able to trust what they say they will provide when I commit to their service? Or, are the channel listings simply notional and should be viewed with no guarantee that ATT will deliver what they are marketing?
Does ATT plan to publish the financial details of their Tegna dispute? This would help to understand their negotiating position, and judge whether or not Tegna is being reasonable.

I am paying for all my local channels and am not getting King5 Seattle at this time. Resolve the dispute with TEGNA or give me a break on my bill for the inconvenience and loss of the shows I am missing.

AT&T lists what the channels are that are curretnly available. There is no guarantee for how long they will be there.
Now lets be realistic. Carriage agreements usually last a couple years at minimum. It is just like all TV providers they negotiate through the year when each channel's agreement comes up in turn. Most of the time this resolves behind the scenes with us customers being unaware when the renewal happens.
But sometimes a channel owner wants an even better deal so threatens to pull their feed. Big ones that have followed through with this have been Nexstar, Viacom, even CBS (not simply a local affiliate owner but the actual network). Now Tegna has chosen to do the same.
For those who call them children and say let the adults fix it, put your money where you mouth is. Get yourself qualified and see if you can get hired to be on their negotiation team. If you do not have the qualifications and experience to be at a negotiation table of that level, then let the true adults continue talking.

Like all your other subscribers, need to know IF you plan on resolving the dispute with Tegna. Your service is the absolute most expensive out there, so we would like to understand how you were not able to resolve this contract issue in time??? I also can't stream well on my computer because your internet service speed has become SO slow lately. Also, no one wants to watch football on their computer screen - why do you think we all bought 55"-72" TV's??? I literally will have to go to a sports bar today if I want to watch football?? Absolute worst time of the year for your customers that you could let this happen. I am checking out X-finity today. Anyone else have suggestions? Melissa F.
