When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?

When are you going to resolve the problem with TEGNA?  It's disrupting my service in watching WFSS (channel 8 - ABC) in my area.  Customers should not have to deal with the petty problems between Uverse and TEGNA.  Work it out or lose a long time subscriber.

I pay way too much for my cable for this. We don’t even  have access to  watch shows on CBS app unless paying for the app. Then we are instructed to use the lotus app in the interactive button on the At&T remote. My interactive doesn’t have this app. So there is no way focus to watch KHOU and CBS. How are we going to be compensated for this? I’ve been a customer for over 10 years. This is not acceptable

You have three options:

1.  Use an OTA antenna

2.  See if locast (streaming service) is available in your market

3.  Use the ABC app to stream programming.

Don't mess with old people.  The older we get, the less "Life in Prison" is a deterrent.

So I feel if we lose channels then you guys should give us channels we don’t have. I mean we are paying for something we aren’t getting!!

I think if they take channels away they should add channels we don’t have. I mean we are still paying.

I have asked the same question about why Locast disappeared with no response. It was there the first day and then gone with no way to add apps.

It has now been 3 weeks since Directv customers were taken hostage by Tegna.  Will customers (as they should) be given any type of reimbursement or credit for our inconvenience?!?!

When are you going to settle this?  I expect a credit on my next bill for the time missed.  This problem reoccurs about every two years and YOUR customers are the ones paying the price.  You are going to pass on the increase to us anyway so SETTLE with TEGNA!  We are now into the Holiday shows and apparently you just don't care about that.

They are offering a $20 bill credit but you must opt for it, it won’t happen automatically. Log into your account to get it.

Shame on you TEGNA and AT&T for putting the customer in the middle of your dispute.  I don’t know if you’ve heard or not, but we are in the middle of a pandemic and people are home and quarantined and all they have is TV.  Having U-Verse is definitely a luxury during this time and the least you can do is settle amongst yourselves and leave the loyal customers out of it.  Can you provide a timeline as to when you rich companies will settle this dispute with the people?

We, as customers, have no insight into a timeline to settle the current contract standoff.  In the meantime, you have a couple of different options to watch programming on your local Tegna station:

1.  Over the Air antenna (free)

2.  Use locast to watch your local station (streaming)

3.  Use the networks own app or website to watch programming.

It seems very much like other providers are willing to pay for what ATNT is not willing to. That is disappointing for sure. I've missed so many football games and that's basically all I have my TV for. If they don't get it fixed by the playoffs I am 100% switching services. There's no reason why ATNT needs to get discounted rates vs what other providers are having to pay.

Also, the fact that you have to OPT IN to get your $20 instead of having to automatically adjusted to your bill is just pure business scum at its finest. Every effected user should be given this adjustment automatically without the need to fill something out. It's bad enough you guys don't even get nfl network or redzone....I really wonder what the point of uverse is for me

Greed is running rampant again.  AT&T Uverse/Direct TV is in another battle with TEGNA (DFW channel 8 WFAA, ABC) over money.  The real loosers:  us, the people that pay for service that we're not getting!  What I am finding out is that I can probably live without AT&T Uverse TV.  As Grandma would say, "They are cutting off their nose to spite their face."  There are so many more opportunities now to be able to 'cut the cable' than they were the last time we went through this.  Personally, I am researching alternatives to cable, such as off-air DVRs, etc.  Many of my friends have already cut the cable, and I can understand better why.  We've had AT&T Uverse and/or Direct TV for many years, but that's coming to an end.   Maybe I should really be thanking them for making me look into this and saving myself the outrageous fee they charge.

Greed is right but it’s mostly greed on the part of the station owners and a large part of why our bill keeps going up. They have increased their retransmission fees over 2000 per cent since 2005 or so and this time around are reportedly asking for a 100 per cent increase. Why should any tv provider and ultimately us pay so much for something they provide free over the air?

Ping-Pong.  Cable providers blame the station owners, station owners blame the cable companies.  Like I said, greed.

You've got a few options to see programming on WFAA (I'm in Dallas too):

1.  Use an OTA antenna

2.  Check your Interactive page for locast.  It is available in the DFW market.  You can watch WFAA that way.

3.  Watch using the ABC app if you stream apps.

1.  Use an OTA antenna - Yes, but I don't have an OTA DVR, yet.  The TV schedule and mine rarely coincide.

2.  Check your Interactive page for locast.  - My experience with locast is that it knocks you off after 15-20 minutes.  Then you have to get back on, thus missing a couple minutes of the broadcast.  Frequent interruptions with their commercials asking for donations. Useless if you're watching for something like a weather forecast, or a plot twisting TV show.  No way to record to watch later, either.

3.  Watch using the ABC app if you stream apps. - Area live stream is not available unless you can sign in with a cable subscriber ID.

Any new status on the dispute re: CBS channels? The Super bowl is on CBS and if this isn't resolved in the next 2 weeks, then we are cancelling and going back to Spectrum.

What are you doing to expedited this?

Any update on the dispute? This is highly irritating and thinking about cancelling and going back to Spectrum.

It's been 2-weeks to figure this out. Super Bowl is on CBS and there is no way we will continue with DD if this dispute is

on-going during that time.

No one here has an update.

EVERY provider, including Spectrum, has to negotiate with station owners.  No one is immune.

This is not a SD dispute. Carriage agreement came up between AT&T (DirecTV and U-Verse TV) and Tegna. Since a new agreement has not yet been reached, Tegna removed their channels while negotiations continue. They will be back once Tegna allows it.

Going to Spectrum or any other provider will not protect you. They all go through negotiations since they don't own the channels. Local affiliate owners (Tegna, Nexstar, etc.) are more commonly pulling their channels (with all providers) to leverage customers for higher rates. TV providers costs go up, then so do our bills.

Use a regular antenna, Locast, or the channel's own app as a backup. Otherwise there are many other channels to watch in the meantime until Tegna chooses to return the feed.

I'm a huge Buffalo Bills fan who has purchased Sunday Ticket for many years. I live in NC, so it's USUALLY impossible to see them play on standard cable. Now that the Bills have become a force to be reckoned with, we're finally getting prime time games. Not only did l miss the game last night, l missed my Bills OWNING the Steelers!!!!

This dispute with Tenga needs to end, and without customers having to pay a dollar more. Many of us have been struggling for months, while corporations get richer. This situation is punishing loyal Direct TV customers, and it's not right.
