Can you get a package just to have hotspot at your house?
I don’t want to change my phone company unless I have to or unless I’m getting a better deal. I just need Wi-Fi at my house so a hotspot plan is that possible with AT&T or DIRECTV

DirecTV is a TV company. They don't provide internet.
AT&T can provide internet without phone service. Go to their website and check what is available for your address.
AT&T's internet Gateways do support WiFi, but many use their own wireless router in passthrough mode (letting the Gateway just be the modem) for a better experience. (Internet and WiFi are not the same thing).
