Dfw area. Can’t get channel 29 to watch the Mavericks
Hi! I’ve rebooted the TV, pushed the white button and redid all that but still no channel 29! What gives! I bought the sports package to watch sports! Now I can’t see the Mavericks or the Stars since they went to stream only! Very frustrating!

No idea what Channel 29 affiliate is. Are you supposed to receive the channel? Have you verified what channels you are supposed to get using the channel look-up tool by zip code located here

Channel 29 is the DFW station carrying the MAVs. And it's on directv satellite. What service do you have?

Well DirecTV is satellite. So that sounds like you have one of the streaming providers instead which would be DIRECTV STREAM (bring your own device) or DirecTV via Internet (similar billing model to the satellite service).
So which exact service do you have?
What is your zip code?
Also the Sports Pack does not provide you 29 or any other local channel. It provides over 35 regional sport networks. It does not override blackout rules. If you are in Choice or higher, you get your in-market RSNs even without the Sports Pack. If one of your local channels (even if your TV provider doesn't have the channel) has rights to the game, it will be blacked out on the RSN.

76021. Zip code. So I think I am not very pleased at all if I am paying this much and now not getting to watch 2 of the 4 sports teams in the DFW area

In 76021 the channel is available over-the-air with a suitable antenna.
quote : You can purchase a digital antenna, which typically costs between $25 and $55, and connect it to your TV. Or you can subscribe to the streaming service the Mavericks announced Oct. 21.

If that is the ABC affiliate, check channel 8 instead.
For streaming customers (since you said not satellite) check the channel lineup.
https://streamtv.directv.com/channels/
Remember regardless if satellite or streaming, they may only provide you the local for your Designated Market Area (DMA) per Federal regulations (as lobbied by those local affiliate stations). And even if in your DMA, nothing requires a TV provider to have a carriage agreement and pay for every possible local channel.

Thank you TexasBrit but I’m not going to pay more for a local station😊. Guess have to stream but I hate that I want to see it on tv🤪. Guess I’m spoiled🤷🏼♀️

What's wrong with using an antenna? Channel 8 sports has been telling you for two weeks how to get channel 29 free on your tV.

I concur that an over-the-air (OTA) antenna is still a reasonable option. It provides whatever is broadcast free, regardless if they are going through a carriage agreement with a TV provider, perhaps from a neighboring DMA (if you are close enough for an overlap as the crow flies), or sometimes sub-channels that are less likely to be carried.

Although I'm able to receive TFAA 29 on an OTA antenna I have mounted on my roof, the signal using an indoor antenna is not solid enough to be watchable.
I'm a DirecTV Stream customer and one of the reasons I selected DTS was that the Mavericks were solely on Bally Sports. Now that the Mavericks are on a local channel, I and my fellow DTS customers have a reasonable expectation that DTS would add KFAA as AT&T U-verse TV, Charter Spectrum, DIRECTV, DISH, Frontier Fiber Keller, Fubo, GEUS, Grande Communications, OneSource Communications and Optimum have already done.
I'm sure that many DTS customers are in situations where an outdoor antenna at a reasonable height is not a viable option. It's unfortunate that DTS is so slow to recognize the importance of this issue and have failed to react in the timely manner that their competitors have exhibited.

Some channels are satellite only, not available to the streaming providers. Different carriage agreements and to an extent different regulations.

Those regulations don't seem to apply to all of the other service providers.
