Direct TV remote
My wife and I have 3 TVs on the direct tv system our bedroom tv has 2 remotes programmed so each of us could do what we want. I’ll call those ( peanut remotes). In our living room we had two of the longer remotes , which are a thousand times better. One remote was working perfectly the other was old and the corners were cracked and the numbers 2,7 would not work. I tried programming another long remote we had in the house. — did not work— I called customer service and they eventually sent me a new longer remote as a replacement. Could not program that one either. Customer service said that hat remote is no longer compatible with my receiver. So they sent me two peanuts. When I received them I programmed one the other would not program , the got some specialist from VIETNAM. After all the (Edited per community guidelines) for a week and a half this guy tells me that only one remote per receiver could be programmed. After all that

The "one remote per receiver" is nonsense, but to better be able to help, knowledge of what kind of receivers you have is needed. Generally, the peanut remotes work best with the Genie system (HR44, HR54, H44, C41 and up) because they can be set to RF mode, meaning they don't need a line of sight to operate the receivers. Older receivers (including the HR34 and C31 Genie and Genie clients) can use the long remotes or the peanut remotes but must have the long remotes for RF operation.
