DIRECTV dropping OANN?
How could you bow down to the WOK cancel culture demands to dropping OANN? They do not lie! The "big lie of the 2020 election" is absolutely true. There is mountains of evidence of the election steal. All the misinformation comes from liberals not conservatives! My husband and I will be dropping Directv if you go thru this in April. I will convince all our friends and family to do likewise. This is an attack on freedom of speech and our country. Shame on you!!!!

oann.com website is rolling out 'oan live' for streaming their content over an internet connection.
I wonder if the other channels I watch (discover, science, history, newsmax, etc) have an app for streaming. If so I would load them on my roku and not have to fiddle with companys that give me a list of channels I never use.

I think we should have a reunion of patriots of the DirectTV forum since we are kindred spirits. 😁

@semockru I saw that on OAN this week. Went to the website & you can subscribe monthly or annually and the cost is about the same. I thought you could watch OAN live on the website but I guess that is gone now? I know there is a pay app on the Firestick to watch it but I am already subscribed via KlowdTV.

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
Just called and cancelled.
They are polling for reasons for cancellation.
Say 'OAN Contract'
account manager, under her breath said 'another one...'
They will try to change your mind with discounts, etc...
Account Manager noticed that I was flagged and 'Original Hughes/DirecTV Employee' and was blown away that I was leaving....
I have replaced approx 98% of programming I watch with Roku Ultra (and Stick for 2nd TV), Crackle and KlowdTV. Saving about $110 bucks a month.
SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS A LONG TIME AGO...
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA

DirecTV shouldn't propagate (Edited per community guidelines) and fake news.
Good riddance to bad trash.

@baseballisback I think everyone in this forum agrees with you. OANN is one of the few real news channels left. If the extremist left want to cancel something fake, its time they look in the mirror and cancel CNN or MSNBC. However, the better solution is uphold the 1A and let the people watch what they want to watch and if you don't like it, change the channel.
@wjerling Thank you for sharing the encouraging news. When I canceled DIRECTV could care less about the reason.... its good they are finally paying attention to numbers.
@semockru Discovery has a app called "Discovery Plus". According to their web site, it includes "Discovery, TLC, Animal Planet, Food Network, HGTV, ID, A&E, History, Lifetime, OWN, Travel, Science Network, The Dodo, and more. In total, Discovery says the streaming service offers over 55,000 episodes of content." NEWSMAX is free via their app.

I got the oan live streaming service that supports streaming for everything from TV to fone. They have a link to roku showing all their streaming devices and the ultra looks promising.
I started the great migration today by porting home fone service which will take upwards of 2wks when it used to take 2 or 3 days last time I did it. By then I should have the roku set up for the tv transition. I am limited in internet service choices which is only 2 in my street, either cable or att fiber. Starlink is of interest but is pricey.

@elmer
discovery+ contains most of the channels I like and rounds them out with newsmax. spectrum cable must smell att blood in the ether because their prices are way down of late and competitive.

This migration should be an exciting technical challenge but I cannot get away from the murderous carnage going on in Ukr. Donation sites are cropping up like the Pledgeling Foundation who is working with the Rise vets on the ground.

Hello everyone and Juniper too.
There has been no response from anyone from DirecTV in this thread because "bots" monitor these forums. That's been my understanding throughout this whole process.
Here is a copy and paste from another thread in DirecTV forums.
"Hey @dontseeme, we want to help with your TV and login issue.
Let's meet in a Direct Message to take a closer look on this. Please check your DIRECTV Message inbox (it's the chat icon next to the bell icon on the upper right corner of the Forums)
Joan, DIRECTV Community Specialist"
It seems to me that DirecTV is simply ignoring us.
Maybe our opinion has been correct...the don't care that we're leaving.
Please, prove me wrong.

I can assure you Joan is a real person
While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

I dropped my long time AT&T phone to a sub carrier that is still using the AT&T system for less than 1/3 of the cost. I have been looking at all the streaming systems and found that I can get so much more for a fraction of the cost. DirecTV was charging me $113 and offering "long time loyalty discount" to pay $96 a month. Now I can get the streaming service for less than half of that. Now I will say The TIVO system and the minis for my 3+ TV will be a upfront cost but will save within the year.
I tried one OTA antenna and I was getting over 30 channels including MeTV and ION and so many more. I can get NBC, ABC, CBS, CW, FOX +. Now with all the streaming available I am getting even more. Prime and firestick and the addons will save me allot and give me so much more.
I will say DirecTV made the error dropping OAN because it opened my eyes to my other options. I truly hate seeing some of these companies becoming so PC and WOKE and forgetting that the consumer is the market not the political WOKE wimps

@ahwhite what sub carrier are you using? I would only consider one that uses AT&T or VZW networks. I'm open to options but am not looking to change carriers immediately. I like my AT&T so I'm less inclined to flee from them and I won't go back to VZW, as I feel they jerked me around after being a customer for 11 years so they can go pound sand! 😄

I switched to Pure Talk! They use the same towers. It was seamless and saved me a bundle. In fact, I get better service and their customer service is REAL people who speak English and are located in the US.
