Missing Newsmax - Very unhappy

I called two days after Newsmax was cancelled (while I was watching it) and the Svc Rep. said to be patient, negotiations are ongoing and Newsmax will most likely be back on. It has now been over two weeks and Newsmax is not on. Yes a replacement channel is now on Ch. 349 but it is not the same. One America News was removed last year and now Newsmax this year.  I am not happy and will start looking for another provider this week.

Negotiations are stalled, but not closed. DirecTV is willing to listen if Newsmax wants to make a new offer.

Remember, changing providers is no guarantee a given channel will aways be there as they are subject to change. DirecTV and Newsmax simply reached an impass during their negotiations over cost.

Hello-

I was a DirecTV customer for 20+ until several years ago when I changed services to Comcast. It’s been a challenging few years with Comcast and recently I had been considering a change back to DirecTV. Slightly undecided but planning to make a decision within the next few days, I was heavily leaning towards returning to DirecTV. That was, until I was made aware of a decision by DirecTV that would’ve had me regretting my move. That decision from DirecTV was to drop Newsmax. You see, when I select a provider’s services, I’m not paying for them to provide me with that they want me to see. It’s about what I want to to see. At least, I believe I am the customer in this type of transaction.

Therefore, I wanted to personally thank DirecTV on their decision which helped me narrowly miss a mistake I would’ve made returning to DirecTV. Thank you.

Still posting the same comment everywhere - it's free on many platforms.

@NeverURServiceAgain

You are just mass spaming the same exact post which is against the forum guidelines.

DirecTV made the decision not to give in to Newsmax's offer as did not like the cost options, but chose to leave the door open if Newsmax wants to negotiate again. That was within their rights.

You are paying for access to a TV platform, not a guarantee on what is or 'should' be available. If they don't have the channels you want, then yes it would not be the platform for you.

The only mistake was thinking copying the same post over and over for a service you don't even have would accomplish anything productive.
