NBC and adding fiber to our system to go faster...NOT!!!

Am I going to get credit since you took away NBC from AT&T?   You can do away with all those music channels and give me back NBC.  I don't care about those music channels your company had established.

Also, when you guys called me about adding fibers to my system early this year.  You had your guys promise that our rates would not go up!!  Will that was a lie, it went up additional $150.   I am seriously thinking about cancelling Direct TV and going back to Cox.  Cox has always been honest with me in the past.

DirecTV did not take NBC away from AT&T. First of all AT&T owns DirecTV, though has passed management to the new co-owner. Secondly, it is your local affiliate station that is gone. Most likely owned by Nexstar, which would be who took it away.

DirecTV doesn't provide fiber service. They are TV only, not internet. You are mixing up services.

The people that came to my home to installed fiber had Direct TV logo,   I may be mixing up the services, but don't they work together?  I'm 68 years old and thank you for straighening up the services for me.

DirecTV has nothing to do with fiber as they are TV by satellite. However, that may have been a unified tech who is authorized to work on both, or was just on the AT&T side but with something issued that had the DirecTV logo on it for either techs who do the DirecTV side or for advertising purposes.

As for your NBC, it is not NBC itself that is gone but the local affiliate station for them where you live. The big negotiation right now is with Nexstar. Since DirecTV did not agree to their request of higher cost (so higher bills for us), Nexstar pulled the feed when the current agreement came up. The channel will be back once Nexstar permits it, but is not looking like a quick resolution.

In the meantime I would try a regular over-the-air (OTA) antenna to get the free broadcast. Useful as a back when these negotiations go this far. Also might pull up addition sub-channels that DirecTV doesn't carry.
