Newsmax
We want Newmax back. You have censored where I get my news and then raise the rates. Looking for a new service but rural communities are screwed. Let me decide what I want to watch.

DirecTV didn't censor Newsmax. They didn't even say goodbye like they did with OAN.
Newsmax wants to add cost to a new carriage agreement that wasn't in the last one. So they have been negotiating. DirecTV is willing to listen if Newsmax wants to make a better offer, but is not going to chase them down and give into their demands like some customers want.

TV providers may have or not the channels they choose. Nothing requires them to have any given channel. As long as any channel they have is provided as-delivered without editing content, then there is no censorship.

I think this is disingenuous. Added cost is reportedly $1 more per subscriber. I'm sure they could cut other channels that NOBODY watches to make up for it. I had a "loyalty dept" person say it's because Newsmax is available for free on other platforms in his talking points from the top. (Edited per community guidelines). several channels are available online for free that Directv carries. They got caught so are making stuff up as they go along. Go woke, go broke.

I will spend my $1 elsewhere and continue to watch it free! I will be glad to take your $1.

Bottom line it is a carriage negotiation. Perhaps instead of getting drunk on "work/broke" comments, perhaps offer to pay for all that DirecTV and some customers don't want? Otherwise, time to watch it elsewhere instead of throwing a tantrum.

Hello-
I was a DirecTV customer for 20+ until several years ago when I changed services to Comcast. It’s been a challenging few years with Comcast and recently I had been considering a change back to DirecTV. Slightly undecided but planning to make a decision within the next few days, I was heavily leaning towards returning to DirecTV. That was, until I was made aware of a decision by DirecTV that would’ve had me regretting my move. That decision from DirecTV was to drop Newsmax. You see, when I select a provider’s services, I’m not paying for them to provide me with that they want me to see. It’s about what I want to to see. At least, I believe I am the customer in this type of transaction.
Therefore, I wanted to personally thank DirecTV on their decision which helped me narrowly miss a mistake I would’ve made returning to DirecTV. Thank you.

Again, it's free on many platforms.
