OANN & Lost Channels
Preface: I know that this is a customer forum. However, I am fairly certain that Directv/AT&T check the forums to see what their customers are having issues with.
My questions/complaints are:
1. Why are you taking channels away just because they are going from standard definition to high definition? I am still paying the same amount but losing channels. Why should I have to upgrade and pay extra just to watch the same channel?
I already pay a lot and am on the verge of switching to another carrier even though I am a long time customer. I am sure that there are many others out there who feel the same way.
2. What is the reason for dropping OANN? There are very few (Edited per community guidelines) news channels and a plethora of (Edited per community guidelines) news channels. Keeping OANN and taking off one of the main stream channels like CNN, would help to balance it out just a bit.
If you are taking OANN off just because of it’s content, then coupled with the above, I will very likely drop Directv and go with someone else.
NOTE: I do not want input from forum moderators who just add their 2 cents. This post is directed to Directv/AT&T.

Directv does not necessarily monitor this forum so they might not see this. However, I'm not aware of any channels being more expensive when they move to HD. Give me an example.
OANN is disppearing as I understand mainly because its contract is up, and whatever you might think its viewing audience is extremely small. Even journalists are leaving the channel.

Unfortunately they dropped OAN due to political pressures from far left extremists. Newsmax will be next if they follow Frontier.

Note several state attorney generals have written DirectTV and Congress is now getting involved. OAN has the truth on their website where you can track the latest news.

I have already lost these channels and they all have the message that the channel is no longer standard but is high definition. Then it says that you can get high definition for free, with a lovely asterisk beside it. Obviously noting that it will be free for a period of time after which you will have to pay.
305
345
361
372
Those are channels I used to get. They are also going over to high def on the following channels (not ones I get, just showing the total channels that will no longer be available unless a person buys high def)
214
328
339
So I have lost 4 channels in total yet I still pay the same fee. Not right!

Directv announced a while ago that SD would be going away and now that transition has started. AS far as I know the offer to move people to HD free of charge is still available.
