Roof damaged after removing satellite dish
I finally had enough of the high prices that Directv charges and cancelled. Typically the dish goes on the roof with bolts that have sealer on them. The (Edited per community guidelines) that installed mine used about quart of goop, put the dish on top and then bolted it. When I unbolted it, all the shingles underneath cracked and came off with the dish. I'm sending the repair bill to Directv!

If there is an issue with install or damage then it had to be reported at the time of install. Years later DirecTV is not responsible for any damage if you choose to remove the dish as at that point you own it and are responsible for any removal, replacement, or repair. A "bill" sent to DirecTV would just be discarded.
For anyone else who stumbles across this thread considering removing their dish, it is suggested to leave the mounting plate and such to prevent risk of leaks.
