OAN was told goodbye as they let the carriage agreement expire, annoucing they would not be going into negotiations for a new one.
They have been in negotiations with Newsmax, but are in a big disagreement with cost options. Newsmax wants to add cost which makes sense, but DirecTV doesn't want to pay when they have other free broadcasts (i.e. streaming), nevermind however they are already budgeted for everything else in the business.
Newsmax might return, but might not. We shall see. But if you cannot live without the channel, then certainly watch them elsewhere. But canceling your DirecTV account is no guarantee the channel will stay available through your new option. Channels and programming can change at any time with anybody.

Direct TV is lying about OAN and Newsmax contracts , Just Bring back OAN and Newsmax. They are alienating about half the country , lame how Direct TV has British and European News, but can't have a conservative American News outlet(s), Fox does NOT count.

The contract ended with OAN and DirecTV said well in advance there would be absolutely no negotiation. So it is long gone and never expected back.
Newsmax on the other hand they DID negotiate with. But both sides were in vast disagreement on what the new terms should be. With no indication of negotiations starting up again, and another conservative network (The First) has moved in, it is very unlikely for this channel to return either.
Bottom line: If you cannot live without those channels then you must go elswhere to find them. They are gone from DirecTV.

The war on conservative points of view continues… woke corporate media providers hate half the country and continue to alienate a very large subscriber base .. the first satellite/ cable company that figures out how much money can be made will make a mint.

@Juniper MSNBC and CNN as well as many others have carriage fees way above Newsmax's asking. MSNBC and CNN are also both available free on streaming. I know because I see them listed on Plex, Freevee, NoraGo and others. All of these are free access so there goes that excuse.

Well DirecTV as is their right did not just accept Newsmax offers for the new carriage agreement. Just like your right is to seek another TV provider that has the exact channels you want. So many are using buzz terms like "war on conservative" or "woke", but in the end TV providers can have or not the channels they choose. Nothing requires them to have any specific ones or viewpoints. Pay TV is an entertainment venue, not something we have any rights to.
