Care Code 205.4

I am getting the following error when I try to log into anything.  AMC, Shotime Anytime, HBO Max, I pay way too much money to have this issue.

Hmm… that isn’t the ID you use for this service. Try signing in with another ID.

Known issue. Several posts here about it.

DirecTV is reporting ....

We know how important it is to have your services working properly and being able to enjoy your shows. This issue is currently reported that when attempting to log in to 3rd party apps with your DIRECTV Subscription, the error code 205.4 may encounter. Broadcaster Center is working to resolve.

I don't know if this work-around will work for you, but it worked for me.  This was a suggestion from another commenter.
1.  Go to your apps connect page and select DirecTV.
2.  Enter your registration code and click on connect.  This should take you to the DirecTv sign-in page.
3.  Login to the DirecTv sign-in page as usual.
4.  When the 205.4 error page shows, open another tab in your browser and login to DirecTv.com using your login name and password and accept AT&T terms.
5.  This should bring you back to the DirecTv sign-in Success page.
6.  You should now be connected to your app.

This issue has been a known issue for several years (quick search confirms reports going back to 2020) and yet when one calls DirecTV customer service they act like they never heard of the particular code or issue.

I spent over 4 hours on phone with 9 different customer service reps last week trying to find a resolution. Each one would have me do the same steps, even after I explained that the previous rep had already had me take those actions.

Interesting to see the comment that DirecTV knows of the issue and is working on a solution since none of their Customer service reps that I spoke to seemed to be aware. I am still waiting on the follow up from the Customer Service Supervisor that was supposed to have followed up with me this past Sunday (subsequent inquiries since then have also not resulted in any response from them).

I know these forums aren't monitored by DirecTV staff. Just want to share a different perspective and acknowledge that there are others that don't have the same experience, or trust, that DirecTV is actually concerned about working on a solution.

I kept be rerouted, once they transferred me to the department that only deals with cell phones so that person transferred me to another rep, then that rep gave me a number that they said was for technical service issues and the recorded message that DirecTV had at that number said that number was no longer in use and it directed me to call the main customer service number.

877-312-5550 (no longer in serve according to the recorded message by DirecTV)

Having this same problem trying to use the streaming app on my Samsung tv.

I’ve tried it all, tv update, turn off and on, delete and reinstall the app. Nothing worked . Anybody find a solution?

It’s best to start a new thread. Include what service you have (DIRECTV STREAM or DIRECTV satellite), any error codes you get, if this occurs on other devices, if this has been an issue in the past, etc.

I am having same issue on Apple Box (recently purchased) with same error codes of 205.4. The login and password are correct as I can get in my AT&T account and DirectTV Streaming account

I haven’t seen a solution on the thread yet
