Direct TV would not give discount on bundled services as agreed/Then turned account over to collections
I opened an account with Direct Tv and they did not offer the internet in my area through att so was directed to windstream. I called Windstream and got services bundled. ( so I thought.) when I received my bill discount was not on my bill. I was told it may take a month or two. I called every month , even had windstream call while on three way. Every month was assured that it will spot next month. This went on for at least 6 months. Not to mention these calls last 2 hours or more. The last call I WAS TOLD OH ITS TOO LATE WE NO LONGER OFFER THAT PROMOTION. So I asked them to cancel my account. Now they Have turned my account over for collection. I’m trying to buy a house and all of a sudden this shows up. How unfair is this? So a company has the right to have one sign a contract agreeing to the contract then change the terms within said contract and I required to pay a fee when I cancel. I tried to handle this with customer service the retention dept and got blowed off. I will pay the 213 just to make this go away at this point. I will be filing a complaint with FTC, the BBB and will be seeking the services of an attorney if I cannot get this taken care of in the next day or two. I wonder how much an jury award I may recieve if I get turned down because of this collection. I will be asking for the cost of my house at minimum. I’m sure att and direct tv has heard this before only to have the customer not pursue it but I promise I will.

Even if you pay now it will still be on your credit for 5-7 years.
While AT&T employees do look at forum posts from time to time, we are here to represent the forum with our experiences as customers and do not represent AT&T in any official capacity with our responses and do so on our own time unpaid and off the clock. As employees we are not rewarded nor compensated to participate in these forums This forum is comprised of regular customers to communicate with other customers to offer advice and share experiences same as any other user Although there is a small team of customer care specialists that monitor the forums the sheer volume of posts are simply too many posts for these agents to respond to each one of them.

All one must do is to contact Att collections dept. It was taken care of once I explained the situation. But in this I learned a valuable lesson.
I actually took the time to read the terms and agreements . Just like everyone else I had not read it. Once I read it I realized I had agreed to everything within.
By subscribing to the service I had accepted the terms of service . Here’s what I tell everyone about a contract read it before you sign it. If one cannot accept the terms of service don’t sign it. Because no matter what’s is right or wrong, circumstances , the weather, , day or night. If you sign it you agree . Thank you for taking this off my credit att you did not have too.
