Directtv
Why doesn't DirecTV care about their customers anymore? I had 6 scheduled visits and every time, they either no show or last minute text they cant make it. I am paying for a product I can not use. I haver had nothing but terrible customer service from this company.
I talked to the lady ojn the phone and said get your tech out here or lose a customer, her choice. She said lose a customer.
I will not take any more time out of my day to wait for another customer service person. I will be canceling my account after 20 years. Over the last 5 years or so they have gotten really really bad and the prices keep going up.
I am glad NFL is leaving DirectTV. It is sad, i have to leave but it wasn't my choice

They do like any other company. Having issues doesn't mean their "care" has changed. With pandemic and now a new co-owner taking over operations, never mind when AT&T first acquired DirecTV, they have a lot of internal challenges right now.
Wrong, not her choice. No agent can force a tech out. They go by a sheduling system. Unfortunately since the pandemic both call center reps and techs are short staffed. This means a lot of rescheduling has been happening. It is not a good situation all around. Yes 6 times is more on the extreme end, but again no choice, fault or anything by the rep. You gave her an impossible choice. And I highly doubt she said exactly "lose a customer". More likely she gave a answer you didn't like and thought to yourself the second choice you gave.
Again, not the reality. The NFL will still be available on DirecTV.
What is happening is they are negotiating the next deal for the NFL Sunday Ticket. There has been word that the NFL is considering a second streaming option for the Sunday Ticket, but no decisions have been made regarding it.
You leave after 5, 10, 20 years, makes no difference to us as we are customers like yourself. But I do suggest you get your facts in order instead of making false claims or giving impossible choices.

I suggest you get your facts straight!!!!
NFL ended their contract with DirecTV. DirecTV refused to bid so out of market games will be moving to a new service. Of course in market games will still be available on Local channels, so you get your facts straight. Same as cable and every other provider of local networks.
if DirectTV cared about their customers they would handle the many customer service complaints they are getting, after 1 bad service call they should of straightened it out. So again get your facts straight
Nope She answered Lose a customer, so again unless you listened to the phone call get your facts straight
Their prices have risen, their service has declined, and the customer service and technicians are horrible, I know this first hand. So get your facts straight

No matter what TV service you go through there is always a chance for poor customer service. Your best bet would be if you have internet would be to choose a streaming service there are a lot more options and no one would have to come to your house you could do it yourself. And as for the NFL Sunday Ticket, there are a lot of rumors about it but nothing has been set in stone yet as to whether Directv will be keeping it or it will be going elsewhere. If you have inside information then please share it with the rest of us and show us the proof. I hope that your new TV provider will give you better customer service than what you had. Good luck and have a wonderful holiday season.

Not giving the solution you would expect after one bad experience doesn't mean they don't care about you. That is just your opinion. As mentioned, they are going through a lot. Yes both customer support and tech visits need to improve, but it is both a staffing and logistical problem not a "caring" issue.
You are basing everything about the NFL on rumours. As mentioned, it is negotiation time. Final decisions have not been made. The secondary streaming option has been mentioned, but no hard details if they will proceed with it or not.
As for the "lose a customer" choice, I did say most likely as that would be an absolute no-no answer for any customer support rep even if the other "choice" couldn't happen. As agents are still human and can still potentially say something against compnay policy, I acknolwedge it wasn't completely impossible (hence I said "most likely"). Pretty much you were just saying to cancel since you were making an unreasonable demand. All the rep can do is scedule in an available time slot up to 30 days out. They don't have contact with techs themselves. Very similar to other large companies.
Of course prices have risen. The networks raise their costs to the TV providers year after year. Cost of living keeps going up as well. Look at gas prices, or do you expect you are paying the same as 20 years ago?
If you are lucky there will be the streaming option. Otherwise, prepare to go without watching out-of-market games unless you go to them yourself. Doubtful the Sunday Ticket is leaving as not just home use but all the sports bars and such that have their viewing option. The secondary streaming option (other than for those that DirecTV install is impossible), well time will tell if they decide on it or not.

6 times either no call or texting last minute to cancel, means they don't care! it is not just the customer service person on the phone, it's the way I was treated by them either not showing up or texting at the last minute 6 different times.
This wasn't the first time, so it wasn't just once. Has been multiple time's with this company since at&t took over.
Right I know they are just phone people but she said what she said..
As for NFL there will be a streaming option, as everything is going in that direction. Direct TV already confirmed it is not signing to renew the contract at 2 billion. Apple or Amazon will be the most likely to get it next year. Sure in market games will be available on local channels on direct tv just like xfinity and everyone else.
I obviously don't have any inside information but it's pretty obvious that out of market games are going to a streaming service i.e. apple or amazon most likely.
Bars will be able to purchase a streaming device to watch the games, just like a dtv receiver they will have streaming devices and/or smart tv's., which most already have.

I had DirecTV for a long time. Since at&t took it over customer service is garbage. I was happy before than, now I am looking for the best streaming service to get rid of them.
I truly believe, as of now they are not customer service driven, don't care about the customer, and it will show when they lose a lot of subscribers.
it's a shame a once good service has turned to crap.

I agree since Directv was taken over by AT&T the customer service quality has gone down but if you really think about it everything has gone down the crapper over the last few years. It has a lot to do with staffing and people not wanting to work. The company itself is trying to do the best that it can with the hand that it has been dealt and not having enough techs and a lot of the ones they do have are not very professional as techs are contracted out and they're are just not enough of them to get all the work done hence the reasons for the cancelations. The same thing goes for the phone reps. I do agree that you should have been more of a priority since you had multiple cancelations but you cannot change what has already occurred. Good luck with your search for a new provider I hope you find one that will meet your expectations.

Yes they have had staffing and logistical problems since the pandemic. Not contacting when needing to rescheudle is an issue, and yes last minute contact has become more common. But in my opinion, struggling to fix an issue is not proof that they "don't care" (as much as any business cares about you). I can only hope the new co-owner that is managing DirecTV can work on the improvements needed.
There are streaming bids for NFL Sunday Ticket, but nothing is locked in at this time. Lots can change in the comming months. All that is for certain is that the current agreement with DirecTV was comming up. Everything is up in the air until any new deal is reached, no matter what provider (or providers). So it is not a guarantee one way or the other if DirecTV is keeping it or not. Definitely something to keep an eye on. For anyone who cannot live without it, I suggest waiting until any contracts are signed. Certainly look into options, but don't rush any decisions so you don't have any regrets after the fact.
You certainly can have valid reasons. But unless someone else is the account owner, then yes it was your choice and nobody else's.
