Directv has turned off phones?
Has anyone else had problems getting ahold of Directv or Asurion through ANY and I mean any of the phone numbers they have listed out there? It sounds like it's going to dial and then just drops the call. Maybe because of the outages they are having, but that shouldn't excuse not wanting to answer phones.

Most likely the system is overloaded with calls due to the 99 sat being down, don't no why Asurion would be effected.

I've got a bad receiver I need replaced. I've been on hold for about 20 minutes. Every 2-3 minutes they tell me my estimated wait time is 30 seconds.

@lk00b as someone who has worked for directv in the past the phone system does go down or drop calls when it's overwhelmed with calls

@shannon02 asurion manages the protection plan and agents that work for asurion on the directv account (I was one of them) get calls via the directv phone system, and use the exact account management system that directv agents use, everything is the same except for who actually pays (paid) us
In other words if you call directv 1-800-531-5000 and you have the protection plan on your account your call is routed to an asurion agent that has total access to your directv account and can do anything a directv agent can
