DIRECTV Price Change - What you need to know

Due to increased programming costs, we’re adjusting the price of our video packages. Periodically, TV network owners increase the fees they charge DIRECTV® for the right to broadcast their movies, shows, and sporting events.

Heads up:

• Have a DIRECTV® TV promotion introductory offer? You'll keep that discount until it expires. Once your offer period ends, you’ll pay the new price for your package.
• If you change your package, you may not be eligible for certain discounts anymore.

DIRECTV Federal Cost Recovery Fee

Starting on January 17, 2021, your monthly DIRECTV bill will include a Federal Cost Recovery Fee of $0.19 per month. This fee used to be charged once a year.

It covers regulatory fee expenses that DIRECTV pays to the Federal Communications Commission. Plus, the fee may include outstanding regulatory costs incurred in prior years that are not yet fully recovered. The fee isn’t a tax or surcharge that the government requires DIRECTV to collect if you have a DIRECTV account.
