I just had the worst experience with AT&T

I’ve been a loyal customer for over 5 years I believe. I ask an agent through the AT&T chat line when my contract expires. I was not looking to have a long conversation or negotiate my contract. I simple wanted to see how long I had until I could see what else was out there. The agent asked my why I was asking that. I told her because I just got a bill that was $100 more than what i normally paid and was thinking about going to a different company. I was going to save $80 a month with more channels and faster internet. We talked for a bit then she called me. She told me I would keep all the channels I have plus keep the NFL package as well as the NHL center ice package. Plus faster internet and get my bill lowered. So of course I was interested. She connected me with another department. They told me the same thing. However, we got disconnected. So I started another chat and explained the situation. She then called me and said that no one said that to me and with the deal she offered I would actually be paying more. I got very frustrated and spoke to the supervisor. With out loosing my cool I asked why would someone tell me one thing and then you guys tell me something totally different. By the time I got off the phone with Abraham he was recommending that I could cancel my contract for only $40. Not sure how you do business but if I had a customer for over 5 years that always paid his bill I would not recommend canceling my contract. Again I had no intention of negotiating my contract and I got suckered into this big situation for 2 hours and left me with a real bad taste in my mouth. I am not one of those people who’s trying to get things for free either. They threw that offer at me to keep me as a customer and I really regret letting AT&T call me. Now I want more than ever to leave AT&T. I really think AT&T should have all there employees and especially the supervisors read a book called raving fans. I know i’m Just a little tiny piece of a fraction of AT&T’s business and believe me they let me know that loud and clear.

Unless you have moved within the last year or upgraded within the last 2 years or got discounts with a contract then the contract was over at the end of year 2.
