DirecTV doesn't call you to upgrade your TV or their equipment. That was a scam.
Before you call DirecTV's official customer support (which is not the number you posted), what are the models of each box you have? We can give guidance if you should call them or leave everything the way it is, or if there might be something that isn't required but you could consider.
Regardless if scam or not, do not post phone numbers in the forum. Just for everyone's privacy and protection.
Having equipment for 6 years, well no swap of equipment is required since that was after MPEG-2 equipment was no longer offered. Unlikely any upgrade to consider at this time since satellite tech doesn't advance often, though not impossible.

This is a customer to customer forum. If you want DTV to know then you need to call them, some one may post the scam reporting info.
