Is there any way to connect to US-based support?

No disrespect - my hearing is bad and it's really difficult to understand any kind of accent.

Yes, usually you can reach a more educated agent by calling DIRECTV and saying ‘cancel’ to the robot. That will send you to the retention/loyalty department.

Unfortunately, there definitely isn’t a guarantee of what agent you will get though. It’s only a higher chance of getting an agent from the US.
